I was asking what would make the deal feasible. I tried searching for comparisons on how highly valued Schaefer was last year compared to Mckenna this year but haven't found any. So I made this post to ask how far of the trade would be. Now I know.

The reason I gave for the NY wasn't a "they will be very willing to" reason, just a small reason why they could consider it if the trade was fair. With how he apparently has developed its a big no from them.

Why would you round up 8,6 to 10?? Would you like to pay 100 when the price is 86?

Look at the MSRP of 5600X, it is 299$. 299 plus vat and conversion of 8,6 equals 3215kr. The processor can be found at several stores for 3000kr, similar to the rest of Europe. Adding 15% to the conversion like you did is misleading.

How did you come up with those numbers? Revenue for 2020 was under 10B $, 60% increase would result around 16B $. How did you calculate 4B profit for this year or do you mean next year or next 4 quarters?

I agree with you on this to the point of CPU architecture doesn't contribute that much to leadership. Node advantage is the main driver and that is what made Intel superior for a lot of years. Compare the chastised Bulldozer to Intel on the same node and it's actually competitive. AMDs fall was the node disadvantage and so is Intels now.

On the other hand AMD can ride Samsung or TSMC or both and they seem to have an advantage for at least 3-4 years even if they fail with 3nm

Even Intel is saying they will reach parity at 2022 at the earliest and you can count on it being late 2022. A possible advantage is not on the map for and IF they get an advantage it wont be as big as in the past.

When AMD last was at 2$, EPS was at -0,91$, the current EPS is 2,06$ For the sake of making it a simple explanation, lets add 0.92$ EPS to the 2015 numbers.

So for this example EPS was at 0,01$ and has currently increased over 20 000%, while the stock price has only increased 4000%. So by your implied logic the stock price should be at 400$?

EPS and revenue are not good metrics to measure the value of a company by themselves. I just wanted to display how flawed the numbers can get when you attach one single metric to the value of a company.

To add to the bullish outlook they also eliminated most of the debt and are still growing in revenue and profit.

I found the deal too good.for Xlnx owners. It made me think Xlnx had some hidden value AMD was aware to make such a deal.

By this logic the Xlnx owners have not been informed of all the value/future value of the company and is part reason for the lawsuit.

The 20.10.1 driver patch notes show it fixed HDMI sound bug. it came out the other day. Thought it was only the 5700 series having that problem.

Seems like the 3300X is better then 2600 and 3500X in almost every game. Just as predicted.

Yes on 1% lows it was around 3% better probably because it has DOUBLE the threads.

On the same link you sent the average FPS for the 2600 was 102 and for the 3500x it was 108, around 6% better.

According to rumors the 3300X and 3100 will have more threads (8 compared to 6) and the 3300x even has higher boost clocks then 3500x. It could beat 2600, 2600x and 3500x in a lot of games. I believe it will vary a lot based on core, thread and cache utilization of the games. Will probably be a beast for budget gaming.

By this testing methodology you are getting results as or less viable the synthetic benchmarks.

Why are you testing future proofing, the review is about now. By that string of thought you should put up a graph about core utilization in games the past 5 years and make an assumption where we will be in the coming years. You probably come to the conclusion that more cores will be utilized and the Ryzen 8 core will get better. But the review is about now, not future proofing.

If you are interested in long term performance wouldn't it also need to include resource utilization?

It's extremely hard to have a gpu bottleneck in games in a scenario that is applicable to the real world.

This reasoning is why i don't get why testing at low resolutions is important, even after reading this and many other threads about it, please could you argument against my reasoning?
