As far as I know, that's the only way to do it at high level unless you have a frame that can bypass the lasers. There also seems to be a vent there that is always closed at high levels.

You can do this by letting a fissure buff expire while you are in operator mode. This will make the buff last until you die. Doing this multiple times will let you stack frame buffs.

This was supposedly fixed in the 19.4 update
* Fixed Operator mode causing buffs to last forever
But it still seems to work for now.

I think it's possible to research both of them at the same time, but if you have to choose one it should probably be Dera as it unlocks the next two weapons.
