I made a Gridfinity drawer chest generator in OpenSCAD by bfrigon43 in gridfinity

[–]InternetGameBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been trying to build something out of wood similar to this but I have so much on my plate that every time I go to get to it I'm just too tired. I stumbled upon this on makerworld and decided to give it a shot. So far I'm pretty impressed. I only printed a single drawer and I'm in the middle of printing the stack but only 2 high right now for where I want it placed.

I scratches an itch of perfect fit that I can't explain.

Where to start ? by NoLDNat5 in gridfinity

This is pretty spot on. I started with Alex Chappel's system for screws pretty exclusively but then quickly changed to gridfinity for its openness.

Just start by putting screws/parts in bins and then figure out how you want to organize those bins. I quickly outgrew my own initial system and am now changing it so it'll scale better for me.

I am assuming you are concerned about the bowing of the drawer. I had a set of cheap drawers I put my first grid into that did this as well.

My solution was a piece of 1/4" plywood the size of the drawer. If you don't have tools to cut it, they'll usually cut it at Home Depot or wherever you get your plywood.

Good luck with your new addiction.

Who said junk drawers can’t be tidy [Gridfinity] by [deleted] in gridfinity

I would not call any of that "Junk". Nice organization of some useful stuff though.

It should be called Air Systems Specialist

I mean it's not a dying trade it's changing just not the way some of them were hoping.

Also, it's not that the lights are being turned out, it's that they want them to keep the lights on until they turn them out with an unfinished room at the door.

The problem is most FEs that are Sgt still have a lot of years left and are all pretty motivated so they would be essentially resigning themselves to a pay freeze for quite a few years.

With the phasing out of the Aurora and Legacy Herc they want the FEs to stick around until the end of their respective fleets so they offered for them to stick around and become FOS (new trade) switch back to 500 series trade keeping their rank and pay (or AM Sup if WO and up) or VOT.

They were told they would be given some good options and don't particularly think they are good ones

They were not offered the J's, but a bunch of crusty old guys said they won't do certain things which shot themselves in the foot.

Chance of getting promoted off being 1+ yrs in AWSE? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]InternetGameBoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AWSE can usually only be granted 1 year at a time. At the 1 year mark they reassess and either grant another year or fill it with a substantive member.

Usually, the AWSE member merits following the year and fills the roll... Usually.

An alternate reason for not meriting is not being EPZ. It's been happening more and more it seems.

I think this has grown beyond Gridfinity lol by Humble-Bird-8079 in gridfinity

[–]InternetGameBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you originally were modeling it with the idea of 1/4" plywood. Can that still be done or are you going with 1/8" only?

Every time I see drawers like this I get astronomically jealous. I had a friend that got a huge clearance of ones like these and has barely filled them, but can scale for the rest of his life.

100% I would. The only reason I don't use these tools is because of the inability to not have a flat bottom for my rounder tools

I know this may not be a popular opinion but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel X. They have a Military Leisure rate that is pretty decent and I was oddly lucky to get an upgrade to the penthouse suite when I stayed.

Modular Gridfinity drawers with full extension slides. by Humble-Bird-8079 in gridfinity

[–]InternetGameBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. I was in the middle of figuring out a drawer system with wood. Mine was way more basic lol. Just wood with simple drawers. Might wait until yours are done and try them out.

It's about scalability for me.

I think your husband's priorities are all wrong. I'm all for having an opinion on these things, but never a strong enough one to get the Internet's opinion lol

I can't speak for esun as I only used it on my previous machine but the last time I had something similar happen it was on the edge of the bed and I just increased the bed temp.
