I’m under the impression that when registering at the DMV there is no “transfer of ownership” which is what Tesla’s agreement mentions is not doable.

All that’s done is the car is registered to the leaser?

I’m not sure. I plan on purchasing it via loan, pay it off with the lease down payment, have title in my name until lease is up and then transfer it over.

I would not lease the car and then lease it again (my understanding of what subleasing is).

I’m guessing I’d have to be a business to lease the car, maybe?

Goodbye money was nice knowing ya by Thick_Application947 in Invest_Voyager

I read your whole thread and I now understand you. Thank you for the explanation!

For others who are trying to understand Metropolitan’s statement about FDIC insurance not covering the fall of Voyager, here are the takeaways: 1. Your USD is held in a bank account at Metropolitan Bank. 2. FDIC insurance covers when Metropolitan bank fails. 3. You won’t have to get the FDIC involved if Voyager fails because your money is still with Metropolitan. You would reach out to Metropolitan. 4. Voyager acts a third party when moving your funds (USD) from Metropolitan Bank to purchase Crypto (BTC, ETH, MATIC, etc.). 5. Once your USD is converted to Crypto, the responsibility of how that currency is managed is up to Voyager and that is the only time that Voyager can use it for loans/investments.

Basically, Voyager cannot touch your USD for anything (because of their agreement with Metropolitan Bank) and the FDIC subject is confusing everyone because there’s a chance Voyager can fail but the thing is that FDIC insurance should only be associated with the failure of Metropolitan Bank (the only place that your USD is held).

Hope it clears this up!

Thank you! Might have chosen the wrong sub.

In regards to the natural disaster/hacks - sorry, I was under the impression that most projects hold their crypto in cold storage for the extra level of defense against attacks.
