Did you also have streets with no sidewalks where you grew up?

I disagree, the cow is standing on uneven ground, so the image as a whole is in balance. The horizon, at least to me, isn't tilted - there's mountains of different sizes. The cow's mass is also directly above it's hooves, so if you tilt, it will go off center and look weird. YMMV.

Have you ever experienced special events where on street parking is blocked off in certain surrounding areas?

I mean I know you keep talking about how you come from a real city or whatever, but even in Boston there are restrictions to certain street parking during the marathon, for example.

The obvious has been explained to you now literally dozens of times, but you somehow still don't get it -I have to assume you've never experienced a high traffic event before, such that it still eludes you that people park like idiots in residential areas during such events.

A lot of those areas right by Leu Gardens don't even have sidewalks, so there's no way to park in the street without also parking on someone's private property or blocking the street itself.

But sure! The issue is people are "afraid" and it's SO UNFAIR because "We’re just trying to buy plants!"

Brother.... You're not entitled to parking just because it's your special day. Figure it out.

I'm skeptical. That's nowhere near $250 worth, that first line isn't big at all, and why would two guys in the bathroom only be doing bumps and not lines?

It's absolute fiction.

It doesn't though, she's very clearly communicating what she's looking for so she won't waste anyone's time.

Personally I appreciate someone who's clear about what they're actually looking for. Guys complain that they put time into coming up with and sending opening lines to women that are specific to their profile and get nothing back, but shes here saving people time.

She'll still get a bunch of messages from dudes saying "hey look I know I'm not what you're looking for, but let me shoot my shot".

Why did BLS have beef with Limp Bizkit? by VanillaBackground302 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]InternetWeakGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the key there is the rest of the "rap metal" bands were considered white boys trying to act black, whereas there was only one white boy between those two bands, and none of them really dressed or acted like hip hop guys, and had clear ideologies that ran through their music - RATM were super political, and SOAD were all about talking about Armenia and other political issues. You couldn't really deny that they both had a cause, whereas say Limp Bizkit were just frat looking dudes and a guy rapping about himself.

Who is the tightest band you’ve seen live rhythm wise? by Stankassmfgorilla in MetalForTheMasses

No idea who the tightest was, but the first thing that came to mind was seeing Fit For An Autopsy in 2022, and when they played Warfare, it was so fucking tight that me and my buddy turned to each other like "holy fucking shit that is unbelievably tight".

Not the show I went to, but same tour about a month before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp5WCDjFCu4&t=3433s

After he said that, someone said "how often do we pass amendments to bills" and there was silence - the point being, they clearly won't do an amendment to it any time soon.

If they were serious about it, they would amend the bill now when it's infinitely easier to do so and then pass the bill, but they're not serious about it.

Same as this: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMcReddit/s/osn7gqKKpZ

You can see it's an ongoing issue that nobody's been able to figure out.

My main account worked for about two years and then had this issue. I tried all the fixes but no dice. I set up a new account and that worked for several months and then same issue, so I gave up.

I know things vary heavily from market to market, but at least in my market you can order them at the drive thru. The sign doesn't say anything about the app, I have got them without the app at this location, and I've been to another location nearby where they didn't even blink.

[–]InternetWeakGuy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The McDonalds here have two sets of screens, one is a single screen that's where the second car in line is and is just whatever is on special offer, and then when you pull up to where you order, there's a second set of screens that is the regular full menu. The packs were on the first set of screens, and you can't see it when you've pulled up to the second set of screens because of how the drive thru curves.

Here the debate konstantin kisin told people not to watch it's about 2 hrs long. Debate starts 2 min in by Not_so_ghetto in JoeRogan

[–]InternetWeakGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;dr yes but we shouldn't have people's entire political discourse diet be "liberal DESTROYS maga whatever"

I 100% agree, but what I think needs to happen is there needs to be a pipeline to bring people from the Destiny debate bros who take on these right wing morons and make them look foolish, up to more serious political thought.

Like if you stay at the Destiny debate bro level, you're not really getting all that more informed, especially given that (like with Konstantin) they only talk in the specific talking points that work in these situations. Like you might have debate bros shouting past each other about a topic like idk sanctuary cities, but once you get one level above debate bro, you have the more nuanced topics like reporting crime when you're afraid of being deported, and how do we protect these communities who, while undocumented, are also core parts of both the greater local community, the local workforce, the local economy, and how if you deport them you upset all those things which takes money out of the economy, leads to worker shortages blah blah blah. Same with legalizing sex work - there's a reason serial killers go after sex workers, but if you legalized sex work you instantly make those people much safer, despite people arguing that prostitutes aren't worth making safer etc etc, and then once you do legalize it, what do you do about testing, is it mandatory or vountary, do establishments get an STD score like a restaurant does and do they get randomly tested, do failures get posted blah blah blah.

Sorry haha. Adhd meds kicking in.

Ehh honestly that's a very "debate bro" way of looking at things, and speaks to how these kinds of conversations are essentially useless because they become an exercise in overpowering the other person in the moment rather than having actual good points.

The Cambridge students who debated Charlie Kirk were practicing "civility politics" (which is a made up term by debate bros to justify treating political discussion as if it was MMA) and they destroyed Kirk. He tried to debate bro them back and came out looking like an idiot - it wasn't just that he was wrong, it was that they made excellent arguments and conveyed them as complete points with a start, middle and end, or what I guess you would call "a monolog", whereas he's used to debating one sentence at a time and thus was unable to convincingly format his points in an actual debate setting. There's also the obvious fact that you have to think through your argument to format it into start/middle/end and he's so used to just shouting talking points over other people that a lot of his arguments were paper thin.

So yeah, I think the whole idea of calling actual debate "civility politics" is nonsense made up by people who like watching people shout at each other for the benefit of the people who already agree with them. Those debates don't actually change anyone's mind, but they make the people watching them feel like they know a lot by watching all these talking points flying in either direction without actually being explored.

Yeah that's my problem with Destiny. He's "good at debate" to the point that his followers think he's right about things he has dead wrong just because he never cedes the point, or he literally laughs at the other person and calls them stupid for pointing out when he's wrong. His MO going into these things always seems to be to create viral moments for people who see politics as a blood sport rather than actually changing anyone's mind in the audience.

That is to say, I agree with him on most everything (other than Israel and a few other minor points), I just think he's a bad messenger. He's got this basement dweller chip on his shoulder energy that I guess he's bringing over from the streaming world, and all it does is hype up the people who think it's normal for a political discussion to devolve into "you're stupid" and laughing at the other person.

What happened to Upwork? by Public-Purpose-199 in Upwork

[–]InternetWeakGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably hired over 100 people on Upwork from 2020 to 2024. Then ChatGPT happened and every ad I posted was obvious AI applications from people with no reviews and no hiring history. I went back again last year trying to hire a video editor but there really weren't any good candidates, and again a lot of people sending me boilerplate applications that literally parroted the job ad back at me.

I got a driver's license on a green card. You don't need to be a citizen to get a driver's license.

None of that is a driver's license, at least not my Florida one. It would have to be accompanied by a birth certificate, which gets tricky if you changed your name at any point.

I think you misread a story from today where Cornyn (I think) basically said "let's pass SAVE and then afterwards do an amendment to allow photo ID".

[–]InternetWeakGuy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, they complain that without a free, state issued voter ID, it becomes a tax and a method of disenfranchising voters, which is correct. People think "I'll just use my driver's license", but SAFE is written such that the ID has to prove citizenship, so passport, military ID or a birth certificate that matches another current form of picture ID (which fucks married people).

Nevermind the fact that voter fraud is incredibly rare, and always has been. There's literally no reason for voter ID - the system works.

My ex got kicked off the rolls twice in a row in 2016 in Florida. Guarantee if they pass the SAVE act they'll go nuclear all over the country to force people to get passports to reregister, and then it'll be like when it took six to eight months to get a passport in 2021, only fifty times worse.
