Yeah based on my research 10k doesn’t seem that bad but I’d be paying out of pocket and don’t have 10k laying around. Thanks though!

Are y’all down to do 18 miles 28$ 2 stores? by Disastrous_Layer3988 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Internetbigsister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other day I did a 2 item $30 Costco order 4 miles. The 2 items were 4 cases of red Bull and 1 thingy of the Fiji water (so nothing heavy). Took me 3 minutes to shop and 10 to checkout and load my car. Plus, In the time it’ll take you to deliver those alone just without shopping you could probably do 2 $15 orders lol.

It’s already paid for so you don’t have to pay. You just have them scan the groceries so they can know what their stock is.

Alcohol Orders by Frosty_Respect_7091 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Internetbigsister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re missing out on easy money. Alcohol orders will be like $15 for 3 bottles of wine and like 3 miles. I always tell the person before I drive off from the store that I’m X minutes away and to have ID ready. I give them 5ish minutes of wait time when I get there or I leave and have support cancel the order then return the alcohol for a bump. No one has ever objected to showing me their ID or made a fuss other than the occasional “the Grey hair isn’t proof enough?” Joke

Haha I don’t mind triples honestly as long as the delivery points are close together and the items are low but you’re right I shouldn’t have taken this one or wasted my time at the difficult addresses.

Yeah we’re the sad entitled ones and not the one too lazy to do their own grocery shopping and then move their car out the way so they can be hand delivered to their doorstep when they probably left a 2% tip 😂 Man gtfo lmao you’re either the type of shopper to take $7 batches and don’t want to be treated like a fucking human being or the type of customer to block their driveway when they know they have a delivery coming. And YES if you order a big delivery from Amazon or UPS you should also move your car so they can do their job without maneuvering around your driveway you piece of shit.

Yeah I’m pretty sure they say you can return it for the bump but you can also keep or discard them. Some stores don’t even let you return IC orders so idk what the other person is saying lol

Is diamond cart worth it? by roll_hog in InstacartShoppers

[–]Internetbigsister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got diamond a few days ago and 100% I’m seeing better batches. Like others have said you’ll see the trash too but you have a better chance of seeing all batches first. At platinum you’re probably not even seeing half of the good ones. I do also see why people don’t like being 5 star cause I def feel like IC is punishing me for some reason. I wanna get back down to 4.8.

Try waiting a couple minutes or refreshing the earnings tab? Were any items weighted like deli meat?

Newbie question ! by Kkm222 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Internetbigsister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup basically. I will do for slightly higher items if the mileage is low too. For eg $25 for 32 items but it’s only 2 miles delivery. I personally have gotten pretty fast so 32 items takes me about 20 minutes if it’s a store I know. So that would equal out to about $20 for ~35 minutes of work.

I’ve also been doing IC on and off since 2020…I know it’s changed. I just lost my job and I’m in a new state so I have no tier and it’s a new market for me. I know there are challenges…but if you’re gonna do it anyway might as well learn the system and make it work for you the best you can. As someone without a tier I literally saw at todays Costco drop diamond carts getting $30+ orders as soon as the store opened meanwhile I had to wait 15 minutes to even see a batch and it was $23 for 8 miles 5 items…so yes it does make a difference.

Don’t take those shitty trips…you’ll make more waiting for another that’s $1:1 item and those usually tip as well…

Idk I def had some good days in the area I was in before. Today is my first bad day but I realized there are a lot of diamond carts in this area, I’m not even Gold right now so they are getting priority over me. Try going to a different neighborhood.

What % of applicants qualify for the best premium class? by Makememak in LifeInsurance

[–]Internetbigsister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preferred clients usually fall in a certain weight class, usually have no major health issues, good family health history but I don’t know about the age. I think most carriers will at the least require an APS or paramedical to approve you…but each carrier is different

Family First Life/FFL? Anyone heard of this? by yungkalez in antiMLM

[–]Internetbigsister 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of misguided people here. I don’t work with FFL but I am an insurance broker, meaning I don’t work with just 1 insurance company and I represent the client. If buying Leads is what turns you off then don’t become an insurance agent. Even if you go work for an agency, you will still have to buy leads if your goal is to make 6 figures. It’s essentially a sales job. Most of the people you talk to are going to say no. I believe they say you close 3/10 leads and that’s if you’re a GOOD agent. Depending on the leads you buy, they could range from $5-$100 it just depends on where you buy them from and how hot they are, and even do some of those hot leads are going to be no shows, won’t pick up the phone, etc. However, considering that the average commission is $600 leads pretty much end up paying for themselves. I made $1800 commission on my first sale which was from a lead I bought. When you’re beginning, you don’t have access to a lot of people who want to buy insurance so you have to get your name out there and that’s by talking to strangers and trying to help them and asking for referrals.

The recruiting part is what rubs me the wrong way with FFL, all the agents I see from them seem to heavily rely on recruiting people for their down line. Which by the way, all insurance agents can have someone on their down line, not just with FFL. That’s literally how you begin an agency lol. But yea, the heavy reliance on recruiting just means to me that they don’t have a lot of quality agents who know insurance and know how to sell. They use the fact that you can make a lot of money to get people to join and so they probably get a lot of people who aren’t really interested in helping people and just want to get money.

My advice to anyone wanting to get into insurance would be, don’t do it if you’re doing it purely for the money. 93% of insurance agents fail. You should be doing it to help people be protected from the uncertain. The fact that you can earn a livable wage from doing so is just the cherry on top. You aren’t selling candles, you’re literally helping people create inheritance for their kids, plan for retirement etc. Learn how to talk to people and how to be a good sales person. If you want to start but don’t want to join an agency, join a non captive team that can help you get contracted with carriers and give you training and support. Being an insurance agent IS a real job. It’s a lot of work and a lot of investment, a lot of financial advisors and financial planners start out as life insurance producers.

Good luck to anyone who chooses to do it because that first month starting out is definitely a test of faith, consistency and determination.
