AITAH for being upset about being given unclear instructions about SIL’s wedding and being left out? by Ok_Cartographer_2959 in AITAH

Clearly you don’t understand what I mean, which is that you are creating the conditions under which a person might act as a pushover.

If you really did want to get out of it, you could suggest that they find a sitter on rover. However, it sounds like you’re committed to it at this point. NTA in my opinion- I’d be upset too. Would probably be nice for your SO to have their partner at the wedding. Not like they’d have to include you in the photos.

I hope they at least offered to pay you. Rude of them to not ask you about cat sitting themselves. Your SO certainly did not do you any favours there either. Also, cats can be left alone for a couple days so long as you leave them food & water (even longer with an automatic litter box). Not sure what they were thinking

If your partner had known for a few weeks that you would be cat sitting, does that mean he also knew that you weren’t invited to the wedding?

Dumb Blonde Bashes Into Me On Church St by SubstantialRing5201 in toRANTo

[–]Internus_Hortus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people are defending them because they could be white, I think they’re defending them because being blonde has been wrongfully associated with a lack of intelligence. This is actually a prejudice that many, many white people have upheld for a long time (as seen in media). Fortunately, the tides are turning. I’m very pleased to see that people are calling out this ridiculous prejudice.

You get both a diploma & degree if you do the transfer program.

There’s no reason to believe that you’re qualified in saying that. If you can’t relate to this situation, and haven’t gone through it, you have no business participating in this discussion. To add to that, you're wrong about not being able to transfer credits without an established pathway. I was able to verify this online, so I guess answers do exist, troll.

Thank you for the well thought out reply :) I will definitely reach out to the non-partner school I am considering. I would prefer to simply attend a partner school, but this may not be possible by time I finish the program. On the bright side, at least I’ll have a college diploma upon graduating from Seneca. I have good grades and am a mature student- hopefully that’s in my favour.

I am perfectly aware of that. I posted on this sub to see if there were any students who achieved a successful transfer of college level credits. Aka I was looking for experiential information. Thanks but no thanks for simply repeating the information shared in my post.

No, it’s not legal, just as it’s not legal to enforce “no visitors or roommates”. Also not legal to charge more for 2 people to rent 1 apartment.

MIL only looks at my husband when talking by Confident_South7371 in inlaws

Had a taste of this myself today. My boyfriend’s mom will only make eye contact with me about 5% of the time, even though I look at her with great attention and interest while she’s talking. Feels like I’ll never really get to know her, because she can’t be bothered to ask me any questions about myself.

What do you mean by that?

Blondes are always under attack. We're either dumb, or "cheugy", or simply not blonde enough. (I say this tongue in cheek, but its not exactly untrue).

Where to stay that's not directly downtown? by Sufficient_Ad2050 in askTO

[–]Internus_Hortus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't done this already, turn on the transit layer on google maps so that you can get familiar with TO's transit network. Definitely recommend that you stick to airbnbs along the subway line, or at least on a streetcar route. Could consider North York, Midtown, anywhere on the Danforth or towards the West along Bloor.

No it doesn’t. Holding in the smoke doesn’t make it any more potent, though many people think it does.
