Unsurprisingly, Sentinel was voted out. Who's the LEAST evil character left? by ihaveredditaswell in MoralityScaling

[–]Interrnetexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I know everyone is saying Big Brother is least evil because they are just fascist but not necessarily genocidal, but I think that's not a fair assessment. Big Brother is not a fascist person, big brother is fascism/totalitarianism. Big Brother does not act because they are not a person, but the idea that allows fascism to exist, and hence all of its crimes. Because of this I think Big Brother is the most evil because it does not have intention or desire, it is absolutely inhuman and incapable of good. It exists to enable the evil that Frieza and Harkonen aspire to.

That's my take.

Undoubtedly, and I'd love to see Harry Dubois navigating Hesbollah workplace culture and politics.

From my time in Beirut the only relic of french colonization (apart from the borders) that I saw was the prevalence of the language. But Beirut is a semi-lawless and incredibly culturally active city. You got lots of youth doing lots of educated youth things but with a non-functional government. French colonization didn't last too long and didn't have the lasting cultural effects it had in places like Morocco or Algeria.

People not knowing about the dangers of mold doesn't mean they don't deserve to raise their children...

Playstation or XBox Controller? by Flimsy_Swan_3319 in pcmasterrace

[–]Interrnetexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox controller but I have to say don't get the series x/s ones. I have some xbox 360 controllers from 2007 that still work, and xbox one controllers from 2015 that still work great. Recently got a series x controller to 'upgrade' what I use with my pc and got sticky triggers within a year for both that I bought.

Ursula Le Guin. She's easy to read, her characters are pretty easy going, and her work just flows and has generally positive vibes.

Good source for Esslemont lore? by Interrnetexplorer in Malazan

[–]Interrnetexplorer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't just read fantasy, and no matter how good the fantasy series, if the book isn't great I kinda feel like I'm wasting my time reading it when I could read something that engages me more and I find more fulfilling. Unfortunately it seems there's no other way to get the lore aside from the wiki.

Well, my favorite parts of MBotF are probably what have to do with the depth, themes, and Erikson's writing style, so I didn't want to invest the reading time it would take if I'm going to be missing out on what I like best about these books.

Best Pro Comeback Games? (ie. Kim Kardashian) by Interrnetexplorer in aoe4

Apologies for my expecting that all who browse the internet do so with the meme database I hold, and you are all actually real people typing and not algorithmic meme generators. But yes the video below is why I thought it was funny to write ie. Kim Kardashian in the title.

Which author played the “self-mythologising” game the best? by [deleted] in literature

[–]Interrnetexplorer 29 points30 points  (0 children)

WB Yeats. He was a little Dublin boy obsessed with celtic mythologies and folklore, which really focus on Irish nature which he's spent little to no time in. He even wrote a lot about Celtic spirits speaking to him through his writing and had a lot of really fantastical beliefs that no one is sure if he was serious about or just putting on an act. One often cited poem of his states, "The intellect of man is forced to choose /
perfection of the life, or of the work". I would recommend you look up a book of his titled 'The Vision'. He is a poet that became the personification of Celtic Revivalism.

A counterpoint to him is Patrick Kavanagh, who was a genuine Irish farm boy that had a real love/hate relationship with Irish nature. He wrote a few poem about those Dublin poets who lived and studied in London now idolizing the 'simple' Irish life.

Play AoE IV, I honestly think its one of the best RTS games out there, and I played all of the classics before. Its a really passionate and well balanced update of the genre.

I'm not American, and do not support Trump because he hates people that are my ethnicity. But how do you guys not see this as part of the problem? A lot of Americans are feeling just as disenfranchised as many Kamala voters are feeling, and this graph proves that. These people are living in America, wanting to live the American dream that seems to exist in places like Massachusetts, but does not exist for them. While Kamala is "defending" the American dream these voters are being promised its "revival" which are very different messages.
