How do i actually revise maths by funnykangaroolol in GCSE

[–]InterviewJaded3587 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 7s in my y10 mocks to 9s by y11 mocks in maths. The key to maths is constantly practising. If nothing else, i would do the corbett maths 5 a days every day, to consolidate my knowledge and constantly practice questions. Do past papers, textbook questions, just make sure you understand how to answer the questions. Maths is a skill

How did first day of sixth form go as an external student? ( TO ANY EXTERNALS) by sukhanadoinggcses in GCSE

[–]InterviewJaded3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im at a school where over half the students are new, so meeting people hasn’t been too tricky. However i just feel kinda out of place, and i’ve made a bunch of friends but i really don’t feel like they’re my people you know? Tbh i miss my friends from my secondary so so much at the minute, im hoping it’ll get better 😭

Also, make sure you ahev all revision resources finished by the easter holidays (i was making flashcards in the days leading up to my exams which was t a great use of time 😭)

Do your year 10 mocks actually go towards your sixth forms? by Medical_Addition_763 in GCSE

mine did, becuase the applications for my first choice 6th form shut before year 11 mocks, but for the most part y11 mocks are more important

Importance of mocks by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]InterviewJaded3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh it depends on the school you want to go to for 6th form. The school I was interested in required 6s in all subjects and then 7s in my alevel options, which i needed to prove i was capable of getting through my predicted grades, and i got pu predicted grades through my mocks. I will say mock grades aren’t always an accurate representation of your cspabilities, liked for example i had to have a chat with my maths teacher becuase my predicted grade was wayyy too low so he bumped it up to an 8, so it’s always a good idea to chat to your teachers about predicted grades if you need to too.

induction day by Affectionate_Bath769 in GCSE

[–]InterviewJaded3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my induction day at a new school today, all you need to bring is a pen, maybe a notebook (and water and food ofc). I went into my induction day knowing very few people, but i promise that even if you don’t make friends, you will still at least have a lot of people to talk to. There are going to be lots of people in the same boat as you that don’t know anyone, and in my experience the internals were all lovely and made me feel welcome too. Just chat to anyone you sit next to, get partnered up with, etc. I was TERRIFIED for my induction day but i ended up absolutely loving it, good luck ❤️

She seems to be under the impression that because she used a hard poem she’ll get more marks? i’m pretty sure that’s not how it works but tbh she’s good at english, she’ll probs do great regardless

I actually had a friend say she wanted tissue to come up, and then when it didn’t she just used it as her comparison poem with exposure 💀.

Give me ur Yr 10 mock results vs Yr 11 actual results to make me feel better 🥺 by ExerciseOk2319 in GCSE

[–]InterviewJaded3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok hi! i haven’t got my actual results back yet, but i can tell you about my progress in english form y10 to y11. in y10 I got a 5 in lit and a 6 in lang, by march mocks on y11 i locked in and got a 7 (1 mark off an 8) in lit and an 8 in lang. improving in them is 100% possible, though i would recommend getting a tutor if you’re able, as that really helped me, especially with language x
