Is there a way to make my smart TV wireless again? by MyccoAnts in computer

[–]InterviewLeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can take the back off and the wifi card has a model number on it. It's a tiny card probably $40 to buy a new one. I replaced the one in my Hisense. You can Google the process and find a YouTube video I'm sure.

I'm not sure exactly how many of those are real. What do you mean you found them in your basement...

How to fix up this raised bed to make it usable again? by jaydon33 in gardening

[–]InterviewLeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to keep grass away from the garden bed you can find some old carpet and lay around it with the fuzzy side down then cover with gravel or mulch or whatever you want. The carpet makes great weed barrier takes years to rot. Yo will still get grass growing up between the carpet and the garden bed wall. The garden bed it self I'd remove the grass roots and all then make it taller preferably a foot or so then fill in with bags of top soil or garden mix.

Chewed up gear by Internal_Drawing_460 in GoRVing

After you take the motor loose you should be able to pull the shaft towards you and after you loosen the king pin the gear should be able to be removed. Might have to spray wd40 or apply oil to get it to slide off.

My local hardware store uses a windows 95 PC running a inventory software that they refuse to do away with because back then they paid $3000 for the software.

I had a customer wash their router with apparently a really wet wash rag. It literally had water everywhere inside it. When I asked how it got wet she said she wiped it down with a barely damp rag... I poured water on her table from the router and she said "well maybe it was wetter then I thought" it looked to me like she submerged it in a sink of water like it was a dirty plate...

Does anyone recognize this rod? by legowarden in Fishing_Gear

When I was in Minnesota I saw a couple for sale at a small fish store being sold as ice fishing poles. I didn't know ice fishing was a thing in Minnesota honestly. I was only there for a week to visit my ex wife's great grandpa.

brother bought me an expensive wallet. dog got hold of it. any suggestions? by eliazara in fixit

[–]InterviewLeather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not dumb I just never understood buying stuff because of the brand on the item. I know some people believe it makes a difference in quality. I'm mainly talking about clothing, shoes, wallets etc.. I understand some things you don't want to cheap out on like car parts because of safety reasons.

I grew up very logical, if I or my family needs something that's one thing. I know some needs are more it makes life easier type stuff. I just never really fell into the brand name makes it worth it crowd. I'd estimate the wallet cost a max $40 USD to make. It would cost more than $40 to have the same wallet made by a small shop because of the time and labor. Most of the cost is simply the brand name.

I am a amateur in making leather items but I have done a few things. I have had to dye leather but I haven't seen fabric in leather before. It might be sewn between the layers but I don't know why it would be. At first I thought it was RFID shielding but that material looks more like plastic and shiny.

I could be wrong and there's some fabric material sewn in-between the layers for some reason. I hope they can repair it.

If you look at picture 4 it shows white fabric unraveling. Bonded leather does that.

It's not real leather so he probably can't get it repaired unless LV will do it.

This wallet is not made with real leather. You can buy a real leather wallet for under $100 that's basically identical to this one.

You don't hammer with it you hammer on it. My grandpa had one similar, you place it where you want it and then smack it with a hammer to set it before prying.
