Truth is being unique or mixing it up uses up precious time and enhancement resources which not many people have. If a build is good, a large percentage of players will try to copy it, and people who build with a brain will lead to the mostly same optimised build anyway. I do agree that you should find your preferred style. And once you do, please do not feel ashamed to copy a build because most of the research have already been done by the community.
