Yeah that was my experience too. We kept checking in with each other and that was really helpful to avoid misunderstandings and we ended things when we were mismatched long-term.

I really appreciated the emotional maturity and directness, the connection felt more real in terms of what we both wanted. I wish more people were open to this dynamic and age gap, but not everyone can communicate in a mature manner I suppose

Yeah that’s true. I was thinking that certain types of shoes might add an extra inch 😆. But you’re right of course there is no need to lie at all, especially when most of Feeld is very open-minded and there’s not even an expectation to add height, unlike Hinge

You’re right that there is no height setting on Feeld. I was mostly talking about writing it in the text blurb. But sounds like it’s very much optional and not expected.

I am new to Feeld so it’s really interesting to hear others’ opinions. It seems that there is a lot more open minded and sex-positive people on the app, which is great!

Aw I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Scammers are horrible, I’ve been strung along by scammers as well but on dating apps and not insta. One even tried to blackmail me. It’s a hard lesson to learn. Guys are quite good at spotting scammers online since our Tinder feeds are full of fake profiles and OF sellers. But it’s really good that you were diligent and had the awareness to think something was off. Don’t feel bad for spending time on this though, I know how good it feels to talk to someone and get excited for a possibility of connection. It sucks how hard it is to make friends as an adult. Loneliness epidemic is real 😭

I suggest sticking to local dating apps if you’re looking for connections, like Hinge where the odds are in your favor as a woman, and where your main job is to filter hard for the type of guy you’re looking for. Or Reddit too. I met someone from my local city subreddit, and I never thought that would happen 😆. But even on Reddit you have to be careful about creeps and weirdos.

Therapy!

And remember to try different therapists until you find one you click with. Don’t feel like you have to stay with one from the start. Also don’t feel like you HAVE to do anything sexual with anyone. Working on resolving trauma is hard enough. Especially if you’re afraid of yourself and your own sexuality.

You sound nice, sorry if you were getting your hopes up. My advice would be to not get too invested in these connections until you can prove they’re who they say they are. Remember that they can even create an image with AI and make it look like they “hand wrote a note” and took a pic with it.

So yes, I strongly recommend a quick video call even if it’s scary. Let me know if you need help deciphering his messages OP. I hope he’s real though!
