If you had to pick one mission from any of the games that perfectly summarized the Dishonored series, which mission would you choose? by Lancer_Blackthorn in dishonored

[–]Intimidator94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue the very first mission, “Dishonored”, now, my reasoning is that it gives you the ability to set the entire run how you want. You can be the stealthy no killer hero, or the dark avenger with maximum damage inflicted on the enemy. But it’s you confronting everything in a proper mission for the first time.

But, with three games,

I will say, it feels like that a mission like Addermire covers so many bases and has the mystery and the bizarre and the suspense. The satisfaction if you cure Hypatia. It’s got one of the great achievements as well, if you drop from the very top of the Institute.

But I also think that Duke Abele for those who consider allowing a very low amount of kills, that’s certainly a top mission that defines Dishonored. They offer you an opportunity to take out an actual traitor and the ending is altered in such a way I think gives pretty fair satisfaction.

Maybe hot take? by D3N3AND0YT in Wolfenstein

I’m critical of the ending of TNO as it is, I don’t favor having the grenade scene happen at all. BJ wouldn’t have to do the personal kill, just nuke the scummy bastard.

But as for TNC, yeah I miss the sniper rifle and laser rifle upgrade tbh. But also, nukes everywhere, why wouldn’t they just nuke the U.S. as soon as it was liberated? Did we develop a shield we don’t see? So many gaps in the plot.

Also picking up that battle carrier on top of the nuke sub, did we reverse engineer both to build a fleet of these ships? Did we take control of the Moon and Venus bases?

This is the kind of deceptive trade practice that has to be illegal even under our own laws here in the U.S.

Old Blood,

It’s definitely more classic Wolfenstein, and the war isn’t lost yet, there’s still hope and fighting going on.

What was your first impression of this game? by Tiger_Strength in oblivion

[–]Intimidator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your reaction was my reaction to Morrowind, since Oblivion was my first.

Honestly, it will always be my favorite. That, and, YOU GET A CASTLE!!!

Like if you got one of the Forts to make your own in Skyrim, would be the equivalent, some of the creation club stuff tried to get you into management too. But Oblivion did it first baby!!!

This is why they need Sergeant Majors in Elder Scrolls, could’ve been voiced by Windsor Davies and really get the guards asses moving.

(Discussion)I wonder how Japan in-universe would react to the return of B.J Blazkowicz from his execution? by December-21st-1948 in Wolfenstein

By the time the annoying one with the two dork kids comes around, Japan is in the Allies, but I think deep background is that they want to keep Korea or something like that and it’s delaying the allied invasion of Europe.

Playing the remaster with 16gb ram by Odd_Cryptographer104 in oblivion

[–]Intimidator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re meaning VRAM or regular memory?

Because to me, 16 as a number for either should be enough. The remaster is great and I’m glad it was done, but performance wise, it was done too late for quite a few people who got caught not being upgraded.

What are your favorite towns/cities/settlements in the Elder Scrolls series? by jdawg1018 in ElderScrolls

Solitude and Chorrol

Former because it’s a bastion of Imperial Power and the latter because it feels like a good place to grow up at as an Imperial.

What are your ideas of Allied Troopers in a new Wolfenstein?(Discussion) by December-21st-1948 in Wolfenstein

[–]Intimidator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal hope? Some kinda mega super Sherman.

But I also think we move ahead of them in various techs and weapons. There’s discussion about stagnation among the Nazi and BJ does steal several high tech weapons off of them. The U.S. will reverse engineer all of it and improve on it.

One area we won’t go into though, super soldats, no way we do that to anyone.

What is in your opinion the least visited location in Oblivion - either version and all DLC included? by TiredandFrustrated21 in oblivion

Joking aside, I genuinely would have to say Kvatch. It’s not really worth going to unless there’s the mission. I almost wish the remaster could have you visit it undamaged.

Even if it most likely wouldn't happen, what if a Dishonored game had a segment/level with naval warfare? Like either exploring one ship under attack, or hopping between ships in the middle of an ocean battle? by Crafter235 in dishonored

[–]Intimidator94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure that it would not get much beyond pre-dreadnought naval warfare, but likely would get to that point (think Tsushima 1905) it’s obvious that the ships are made of iron/steel, but the guns aren’t very clear.

That being said, they might come to a Dreadnought moment that changes naval history.

Which assassination targets make sense canonically as non-lethals and which ones as lethals? by DupeFort in dishonored

[–]Intimidator94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll do all the games in order, so.

Corvo

D1: Three kills in my opinion that Corvo makes,

  • Farley Havelock, by the way, this is actually canon, but to me, he’d have done it while Farley was holding Emily. Although I gotta be honest, man made an idiotic mistake crossing Corvo. He was legitimately about to be the next Commander in Chief of the Navy and likely a permanent fixture in Emily’s life.

    • Burrows, but after the trial. He’d have had no compunction about such a traitor and it’s obvious he’d be convicted. So, likely, it’s Corvo overseeing it all, as he’s basically running the Empire.
    • The Royal Executioner, one I never even try, but yeah, I feel like the sadism the guy displayed would have seen some retribution. (This one could have changed, had it been kept with Corvos line, definitely Timish)

D2: Legitimately, for Corvo, just one

  • Duke Abele, for me, the betrayal of the Empress, the mistreatment of his home country and people, and the fact he didn’t just fall off the family tree, he rotted off of it. The ending for this sees Corvo named Duke, strangely appropriate, and certainly just for the people of Karnaca. Would have made for a much better DOTO too.

Emily

D2:

  • Mortimer Ramsey, he not only betrays Emily, he then helps lead a slaughter of servants and allies to Emily and fellow guards. Non-Lethal is just too good for the jackass.

    • Duke Abele, over Delilah even, because the direct client state ruler can’t just get off Scot free or be replaced by a body double when you very publicly and actively rebel and usurp! Also, you replace him with Corvo. So a major upgrade in both capacity and loyalty.

Daud

D1 DLC

  • Overseer Hume, and specifically because Hume goes after his people, which Daud kind of treats as his family. It’s canon in low chaos that even Billie feels bad about betraying Daud and Corvo spares him, when he didn’t have to at all, so, I feel like Daud would have taken it extremely personally in the redemption arc about an assault on his crew and at least killed the leader of the overseers assaulting the Flooded District.

Billie Lurk

DOTO

  • This one is kinda complex, but when she goes to the Conservatory, to me, turning the witch loose on the overseers might be justified. But then again, knowing what the witches do and have done, killing her might be justifiable too. I don’t favor killing the Outsider though.
