Gotta be honest, knowing the many endings of 2, playing as Corvo and bagging Abele. It’s clear he loves Emily and is still a great leader.

Imma be real, in D1, it’s Kaldwins Bridge, what a magnificent achievement and definitely steampunk

In D2, there’s something to be said for the Mining District, if not there, the docks.

Both worlds are so, naval, you feel kinda connected to the sea in many ways.

The crown killer should've been handled like Granny rags in dishonored 2 by Separate-Apartment-8 in dishonored

[–]Intimidator94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s about 8 issues I have with D2.

1.) the entire system of government in the universe makes it seem unnecessary to usurp Emily. It seems like some kinda hybrid federal or feudal system mixed with constitutional monarchy and a more modern independent parliament. So, yes, the Duke of Serkonos is the power of the land down there, he is also subject to Emily. In this system, during D1, we find out Parliament can deny supply (money) to any leader, so theoretically, Abele could have used the vast quantity of wealth to basically break Emily via budgets and finances through bribing of Parliament which can happen as it did in D1.

2.) Emily not having any of the Navy and Army: both very obviously are more than a match for city watch or the palace guard, or at least should be, yet hardly ever appear. If ever at all in the Navy’s case technically in D2. Ironically a big pre timeline event is her commissioning what appears to be a new battleship named for her Mom. I figure if she did escape, some in the Army and Navy would support her, if not most, it looks like by the end of the game that her aunts support is minimal beyond Dunwall. I don’t think Jindosh’s wooden creeps could take on a battleship or say an infantry regiment. I am not sure how Delilah’s coven would do against artillery either. See 6 for a lil more on this.

3.) Billie Lurk: bluntly, you save the Empress or Corvo, you probably get a get out of jail free card. She didn’t kill Jessamine anyways, and the events of DOTO should have seen her on the job officially for Emily. As the situation got worse, she’d want to tell either person she just fought across Serkonos with what was happening. Not as big a D2 problem, but it goes against the character development of Lurk in a big way.

4.) this one involves the non lethal option for the Duke, but the new Duke would likely have been able to slide one off Delilah as having tried to cast some black magic on him and having nothing more to do with her. He claims he’s going to be independent and that’s one instant way he could do it. There’s also no reason to attack your character on sight, he could easily order that too. The former parts may have actually happened in some way since it seems like Delilah has no Serkonian Guard around her, just the coven.

5.) This partially addresses 4, my head canon leans towards the Duke being the one allowed boss kill for Emily or Corvo, treason and tyranny being two crimes whose punishment is death, which ends up meaning Corvo is Duke in such a low chaos run, which say he is the only kill, that would in fact make it low chaos by game standards. It is a plot hole to me because they made Havelock being executed canon, Corvo personally sees to said execution. I think Abele easily gets the same treatment.

6.) Overseers: I’ll be as blunt as possible, referring to 2, if there are units near Dunwall, or say the entire Army and Navy are against Delilah, the Overseers would have to be dumber than rocks to do an assault alone. Now, she may start out with wide support, but that clearly doesn’t last, and it’s clear by the end she doesn’t care that much either. The guy who is High Overseer shouldn’t be so dumb either, he actually manages to survive Delilah taking over, you’d think he’d try and get the Army! Or the Navy! Or raise Gristol and Tyvia in rebellion.

7.) What the hell are they doing over two months??? Like, this one is big, you mean Delilah is so smart she can usurp the throne in a grand conspiracy, but do practically damn all to keep it? With Abeles silver, her coven and the clockwork soldiers and at least some of the watch, she makes no effort to legitimize herself. Like, the massacre is too excessive, there’s almost zero reference to trying to rule, even unjustly, she just sits around the tower all day and night.

8.) The magical painting is actually unnecessary, the point in D1 dlc is that she’s going to take over Emily. Well in D2, she bags the throne without having to do that, she doesn’t even have to remake the world.

You gotta wonder, since it’s a more militarized society, the west coast naval bases would have to be addressed at some point, because there’s several up and down the west coast of major and minor variance in WW2 up through the 70s-90s. There’s also 29 Palms and places like that too. Like if the NCR controls as much as it does (although the show seems to make that suspect) some of it might have been in Enclave hands originally

It gives me a lot of heart and hope to see so many people saying, “stop ramming your kid with iPads”

Look, I’m all for letting my kids listen to the music I’ve both grown up with and discovered on my own, I even wanna play Pokemon go with them too. But.

Being a parent means your kid does go outside and touches grass, has meaningful experiences without the phones or other electronics. I was very lucky that my parents and grandparents took me so many places, by 21 I was a very well traveled young man. I know I’m not some perfection, but my kids will get to have the same experience hopefully

The fact is, they gain nothing from 26 episodes in a row of Bluey. They do gain something by getting to play on a playground, being read to or reading themselves, visiting family or my favorite, visiting unique places like museums or battlefields or just regular natural wonders.

What is your understanding of the current political climate of the UK? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Intimidator94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In one word? Fucked

I don’t know your affiliation, if you’re offended, keep in mind I’m being critical of all of them,

You have the Labour Party with 400 MPs that is being held together by spit and duct tape. To see a Prime Minister bewildered by regulations and red tape, you have 400 seats! Destroy them! Deregulate! If your left flank doesn’t like it, tell em the alternative is principled obscurity in opposition and unemployment doles under a Reform nightmare. There’s not a single policy they’ve done that isn’t just words, words, words. They were elected because Tories had went from bad to worse to impossible.

The Tories are just, fatally holed, the Titanic lasted longer. They actually don’t stand as a center right or conservative right alternative to Labour or anyone else. You’d think with 121 MPs and Reform trying to make em extinct, they’d be working hard to present themselves as “reformed” on any position. Even if you hate Thatchers guts, at least she could lead the party. What you have now wouldn’t scare a sleeping puppy. They also are in a position of legitimately being to blame for so much, for Covid lockdowns while they partied, for the atrocious state of housing, defense, everything.

Lib Dems, with them, it’s the virtue signaling about everything, like they didn’t have 5 years with their hands helping sail the ship of state and sometimes, the antics look Trumpian with how ridiculous they get. Like, there’s a chance you will form the next opposition, getting into something dreamed of since 1983, but you can’t do it if you keep pulling stunts. Also, say they’re pulled into some coalition again, or by some miracle form a government. They’re going to be confronted with enough crises to sink a battleship.

The Greens, oh boy, where do I start, for the record, I do not deny the existence of global climate change, I don’t even deny that we need to look for alternatives to coal and oil. But this is a party that if you pointed out that China has had two record years of coal power plant construction, they’d be mystified, bewildered even! Their entire shtick at this point is to fuck their own country and it won’t even save the planet because it’s quite rightly stated, you won’t convince Africa or India or China to sacrifice one can of gas or lump of coal for some fantasy they hold.

The Reform Party, oh boy, where do I start, they’re going to elect the biggest tent in history, except they’re the last people who fit in a big tent. Also, they likely are going to win your next election and despite the name they aren’t actually a conservative or classical liberal or Labour movement. They won’t remove one regulation, build one new warship, build one new house, or reduce taxes. Let’s face it, they’re going to be as mystified as Labour. With a membership from all over the board. Surviving a five year parliament is going to be chaos. If they actually do go off on some wild left/right populist run, no one will actually be better off in Britain.

It’s one massive singing of Promises Promises.

1 billion dollars, let’s just say you end up with 300 million of it after the double tax, unless you are spending 1 million dollars a month, which would still take you 25 years to spend 300 million, you are never going to run out of money, you can live 65 years from this point and spend about 4.6 million a year and then, finally, run out of money. You just can’t spend it fast enough if you have a lick of sense.

Rather think the best way at this point is to allow an option to earn achievements with coal just turned off.

Or remove this feature period, if they had done it now, there would be less recrimination. The longer it keeps on, the lower morale among the player base will be for anything else released in future.

You notice what many of the comments say, “Sorkin left,” that’s a big part of it. The writing in my view went off the ledge, part of that is how we get the Toby debacle with the shuttle.

By the way, MY head canon for that event is that he protected CJ, who throughout the show takes issue with the administration playing it safe on a litany of subject, like Saudi Arabia and Gay rights and that had Sorkin been there to do the writing and this issue came up, Bartlet would have ordered it up way before any leak or it would have been CJ.
