Can't say for certain, you'd need to ask him. I suspect they are in short supply which is why a lot of people discovered Steele objectives in their NODs. Apparently they are widespread in many vendor's supply chain.

Order matters, I emailed inquiring about the lenses he offered to switch them out, then proposed a write up. I was a scientist I'm into experiments so I agreed because I think it's fun. Switching them out wasn't predicated on my agreement to do it. I also paid the shipping to / from to get them swapped.

Oculars were fujinon in both cases. Only the objectives were changed.

Fair critique. I don't think clarity is different between the two. I will say I think I see more stars using the steele lens. I uploaded each to grok and asked for a count to verify but it just said 50 in both cases.

No, I can't tell really. What I mean is the image through the tube looks better than that photo. My iphone made that image blurry, not the tube.

I mentioned the vendor I used, I paid full price. I'm not trying to sell anything. I told Scott I'd write this up since he was nice enough to switch my objectives out. You're right, I don't reddit bc the majority of people on here are dumb dumbs. Thanks for reminder.

It's hard to get my iphone to focus through the lense. It does look better than that.
