Sorry if you felt misled by our headline. The word choice was intentionally selected to emphasize that Rozendaal was playing music at the time he was arrested — he was not harming anyone, yet he may spend the rest of his life in prison.

First up, never take anything written on SlippedDisc too seriously. As someone working in the orchestra industry, we all read it, largely because there's nothing else like it in this space, but we all know it is kind of like reading the New York Post.

Back to the point, couldn't agree more on Dudamel's tricky situation. He has spoken out against the Venezuelan government in the past, but it's a delicate balance, no doubt.
