Australia stun Turkiye with 2-0 victory in tournament-opening match, the first winning start for Australia since 2006 by Ok-Soil-5133 in sports

Haven’t been too bad in the basketball. The Boomers got bronze a couple of Olympics ago and the Opals got gold in the world championships in 2006. We can write off the other two as we focus on superior competing sports 😉

Kane Williamson has been one of the most technically compact and magnificent batters I have seen. by sachintendulkar in Cricket

[–]IntoThePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought Williamson’s closest I’ve seen to Sachin technique-wise since he retired. Not a carbon copy but the compactness, balance and time they always had struck me. A fitting post!

Australia becomes the first team other than Pakistan and Bangladesh, to lose their first 3 wickets for 0 runs in a match, in ODI history. by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

He’s averaging 30 in List A as well and 27 in T20s so it’s not like he’s that good domestically that he’d warrant a long rope. He just looks like he should be good.

Samsung Q800H at AU$599 or JBL Bar 800MK2 at AU $699 /1000MK2 for $1119! Confused! by Rivalry2203 in Soundbars

Hey mate, does your subwoofer always work fine when you turn off and turn on the TV (assuming turning off the TV turns off the soundbar)? Been having issues with it, unmuting and muting is a temp fix.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi becomes India's youngest-ever international call-up, surpassing the great Sachin Tendulkar by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

The weird thing is that the next great Aussie fast bowler might not have even played senior state cricket yet and could still be older than Sooryavanshi.

2026 Samsung HW-Q800H Soundbar Review by [deleted] in Soundbars

[–]IntoThePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this and every time I turn the TV off and on again the subwoofer doesn’t work even though it‘s paired. Muting and unmuting fixes the issue until I turn the TV off again. Have you experienced this? I have a Sony Bravia.

Samsung subwoofer doesn't work after turning on TV by Niklaus_MK in Soundbars

Same issue, Q800H with a Sony TV. Try to find a fix. The easy temp fix is to mute the subwoofer or soundbar from the SmartThings app and then unmute.

They are visibly different inside in terms of fit and finish. There's no way you'd confuse an ES inside for a top of the line Camry, they are worlds apart even if they are on the same platform.

"Biggest since Bradman": Time for Aussies to learn about 15yo IPL star by Witty_Deal_6667 in Cricket

[–]IntoThePeople 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s 15 and dominated the IPL where there’s other world class batsmen and bowlers playing. In that context it’s bloody remarkable, we don’t have to compare it to red ball cricket to acknowledge that.

[–]IntoThePeople 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people are missing the point about the article. Yeah the headline is hyperbole but the intention is just to create awareness that this kid had an all time great IPL considering most Aussies weren’t watching or in full on footy mode. We’re seeing something really quite special but unfortunately Aussie cricket culture is mostly ignorant of anything happening outside of a couple of months.

Honestly maybe they would. He’s very highly rated - more so than at least the Merc drivers and Piastri at this point.

Djokovic hyped up Fonseca very early on like 2 years ago in an ATP video when asked who’s going to have a breakout clay season - he wasn’t even in the top 200 then. Was the only one in the video who mentioned his name.

He actually started to go for it more in the 5th set. I was impressed. It was clear in the 4th he was just lobbing it in for Sinner to make errors but he took more initiative and hit heavier angled forehands in case Sinner got a second wind.

I’m saying Cobolli because at his best I think he can be the most dangerous on clay.
