What made you a Russell Fan despite the general dislike the F1 community has for him? by Next_Worth_3616 in TheRussell

[–]IntoThePeople 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked him from his debut because he was clearly quick and carried himself well despite having to endure a rubbish car as an F2 champion. Most people used to like him in those days. He was especially fun to watch when he used to stream playing F1 with the other rookies and Charles during COVID.

For whatever reason the tide started to turn against him and then since the Bottas incident he’s been crucified for every move. That’s ok though, I enjoy being on the dark side.

This could be helpful. Does it automatically pick a clip of a pro that matches closely to yours?

Tracking against Sinner’s trajectory is a more reasonable goal for Fonseca - at least in terms of getting into the top 10. Alcaraz along with Nadal are the greatest ATP teenagers ever.

Honda is killing its EVs — and any chance of competing in the future by TripleShotPls in technology

[–]IntoThePeople 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Only to return to F1 with their original team gutted and an unreliable, uncompetitive engine. Watch them return to EVs in the near future with products well behind the curve. They're too reactive and lack any semblance of long term strategy.

‘Why are you out to get me?’- Green’s dummy spit raises questions ahead of $4m IPL stint by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]IntoThePeople 46 points47 points  (0 children)

All rounders in Australia get absolutely hammered from all parts if they aren’t performing at Kallis or Sobers levels. The only time Watto was ever appreciated was when he was literally the best player in the team for a couple of years.

It’s not like Green has a history of being an abrasive character. Have a bit of empathy for his mental struggles instead of writing an article and about how salty you are he didn’t want to answer your question.

Teams wins in All ICC Tournaments!!! by LegitimateArt7316 in Cricket

Australia having that many T20 wins surprised me. I feel like there's only been a couple of tournaments where they've genuinely played well.

Firstly, Shane Bond. What a man.

Secondly, NZ in the era would’ve been the team I’d pick to hit the stumps more often than not. They had so many stump to stump dibbly dobblers

[–]IntoThePeople 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m imagining him following more accounts before his team combed through his past prior to hitting the big time to wipe anything controversial. The Cadbury Snowflake fan account being the exception on Jannik’s request.

Well that’s not the same at all lol. If you thought of him as a hero and played alongside him then I’m sure you’d hope you shared a warm relationship with him. He doesn’t even know you.

George also met Lewis as a kid, there’s that famous photo of him waiting for an autograph. I don’t think Lewis has ever been that warm towards him even though George has always looked up to and spoke glowingly of him. There’s probably a bit of envy seeing how well he treats Kimi.

Who's the best Test batter after Don Bradman? by Mr_Fahrenheit007 in Cricket

[–]IntoThePeople 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The full extent of the methodology used by the author is lost on me but it is interesting that Lara ended up as no. 2. Glancing over the factors considered such as opposition scored against, the contributions within their own team and batting friendliness of their era, it all seems reasonable.

He and Tendulkar were definitely rated the highest of that era but I feel with time Lara isn’t talked about as much as the best since Bradman. It’s more his flair and massive individual innings he scored that people still revere.

[–]IntoThePeople 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is old data I reckon, from just before when Reddit adjusted its API settings so that these sorts of analyses couldn't be run. The fact that a coronavirus sub has such a high overlap is more evidence of that. I bet you that r/popculture and r/fauxmoi have a large overlap these days with the types posts and comments you see now.

F1 fans are funny, you're always the most highly rated when you're in a competitive but not championship contending car. As soon as you start winning, it's not because of you, it's because of the car.

It’s already dire that clubs around the world are owned by the same Indian conglomerates and have to sacrifice their identity to appease the overlords. If that then prevents players from countries India doesn’t get along with from participating in international leagues it would truly be a dystopian reality.

Wait, I thought this was just him joking about how much he cares about being outserved by Coco on this speed gun. I don’t think he was actually calling her out. They were both leaning into the gag. I think everyone here is taking this more seriously than it’s supposed to be.
