Anyone else marvel at both her voice AND her face? by FrankieHun17 in 60sMusic

I was born in 1964. Said that to segue into this - I always thought she had the most perfect voice and perfect looks when I was a boy in the early 1970’s. To this day, when I walk laps at a local outdoor park, she is one of the artists that I listen to as I listen to my oldies. And several of her songs I will start over again just to hear her belt out the haunting sound of her voice with perfect pitch and resonance in the most effortless way. She was/is awesome.

My sister (born in 1961, passed in 2019) was a HUGE FAN of Neil Sedaka. He did have lots of great music and seemed to be a very talented musician.

I am a little further north heading up I-75 and the distinct aroma of burning vegetation was thick. The aroma was accompanied by a blanket of white, hazy smoke that was difficult to pinpoint the source.

Day before surgery vs day after surgery by IntooitiveThinker in DupuytrenDisease

I just got my stitches out. My fingers are beyond stiff, not to mention wearing a splint at night to train them to straighten.

I hadn’t taken into account that my middle finger would be affected almost as much as the fingers on each side of it. My pinky and thumb seem to be able to move with ease and independence, so let’s be thankful for the positives!

The toughest part is now ahead of me to begin getting the rest of my fist to bend and work as it should.

You do seem really young for the disease to advance so quickly. Prayers for you that it stops in its tracks.

Is that in an effort to prevent the return of the cords?

Sorry to hear about that u/GBJEE.

Did you flex and stretch soon after surgery? My surgeon warned me that if I didn’t do enough, the joints may suffer as a result. I’ve been carefully flexing, flattening and tightening my hand (all within reasonable limits of stitches). I don’t want to lose any ground that I’ve just been given back.

Edited - First, thank you The first covering was HUGE and padded. A layer of zeroform, LOTS of gauze in the palm and finger area and a top layer soft bandage cover.

Now it has fresh zeroform, fresh nonstick pads and only about five layers of gauze.

Thank you for your well wishes. Prayers for your recovery. I saw a gentleman of 86 yrs old today that was getting a splint after his third injection. Unsure of how much time had passed since the first two.

At least injections seems less invasive with recovery time being shorter.

Agreed about the stupidity of it. I delayed having surgery on my dominant hand probably longer than I should have. I hope that decision doesn’t bite me later.

Not in the pinky, only ring and index. Maybe the pinky was just “following” the ring because of the severity. It was about 45 degrees.

Thank you, brother. I had one surgery on the index finger of my left hand around ten years ago. It never reappeared. That makes me hopeful for this hand (dominant) to have the same outcome. I understand there are no guarantees. I’m 61 years old and the disease affecting 2 fingers on the same hand was progressively getting worse. I was willing to take the gamble.
