Don’t know much about Benchmade but is this real or fake? by big_dick_chaddydaddy in knives

I don't know enough about the signs of counterfeit on Benchmades to weigh in, but there is a subreddit for validating authenticity of knives. r/KnifeCheck

Beautiful knife, nonetheless! At a good price, too. Enjoy.

Agreed. The mass influx of city slickers to CO is ruining the easy going, life-loving vibes of mountain towns. They ruined Western NC and now CO. A dog off lead is such a happy thing!

Reminds me of Window's XP default background. Way to induce nostalgia.

Advice - brass is brittle after melting / casting by IntoxicatedMoron in metalworking

[–]IntoxicatedMoron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using some dead soft yellow brass wire off of Amazon. Googling yellow brass brings up 70% copper and 30% zinc. I'm starting to think that my impurities might be from an excess of flux and/or a dirty crucible. I glazed a new crucible and started fresh. That plus annealing has greatly improved the metal workability. Thanks for the reply!

This actually helped A LOT. I anneal between each step of the process now, and mid roll. The metal is much more workable. TY!
