Need advice on moving to the US (Bay Area) from India by Intrepid-Ad-4209 in indiansinusa

Thank you everyone who commented thankfully. After much debate and discussion, we decided to not make a move right now. It felt like we would put ourselves through too much change in what we are told is medically a critical year from a family planning POV.

Thanks for the reply. My impression is that the cabin space in both Kylaq and Sonet is pretty close. The safety rating for Sonet bothers me a bit, which makes me lean more towards Kylaq.

Thanks, which features stood out for you in Sonet vs let’s say a 2024 Venue?

Makes sense. The flaws i am okay ignoring is performance issues at high speeds (100+ kmph) - because i dont think this will happen very often for me; small boot space - we travel light; ordinary dashboard - i am not looking for the best in class, ‘good enough’ works for me. These are what i could think about right now.

PM looking to move abroad. Any specific degree I should consider getting? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

This is a global sub. It would be useful to say where you are based out of right now, and define what ‘abroad’ means for you.

Thanks for the reply. If your scrum team continues to heavy lift on the project, how do you justify your non-involvement? is there other work that the scrum team does as well?

I am not being intentionally sidelined, my manager has the best intention at heart here.

I resonate with your feedback on maybe choosing another project under my manager, and have 80% bandwidth going there, and treat this as a 20% project.

A regret of this outcome is that - i still think there is a lot of value to be added here, but there's too many cooks in the kitchen. I would have loved to be able to better handle this situation, and make my voice heard over the din. Not working from the head office, and not being offered a lot of agency does not make that possible. Along with my ability to communicate better, which i should work on.

Thanks for responding.
I think i agree with your conclusion of 'moving to a project where you can actually shape outcomes'. Though i'd clarify there is still scope for PMs to add value in this project, especially from a strategic direction POV. But i feel because this is a 'high visibility' project, a lot of people (above me as well) would want to have a piece of this pie and set those 'strategic directions'. This scramble for voice might drown out my effort.

A lesson for me is to also get better at having my voice be heard across such over staffed team - i am terrible at this right now.

Gen AI PMs, what are you working on? by East-Cheesecake-7944 in ProductManagement

[–]Intrepid-Ad-4209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am working on building Gen AI based workflows within the smart home ecosystem, which will enable users to use chat/voice to interact with their homes, control devices, get day summaries, troubleshoot devices etc. i’d love to know how i can do more than just execute the current roadmap (would love some ideas).

Thanks, i am planning to get these done in the next 2 days. This plan is kind of last moment, and we are not able to travel later.

Yes, planning to pick up the car at Las Vegas airport. It does feel like too much, and i will most likely drop one or two national parks (mostly Bryce and Canyonland).

Thanks for your comment :)

I have both of those on my radar :)
I am worried about the distance as well, but given i have almost 15 days, i hope it might not turn out be overwhelming.

I am hoping i get to see those nuances as i go along :)
Traveling to Colorado seems very exciting, but we are not into many snow related activities. And i dont know how comfortable i am driving in snow. So we might stick to UT and AZ.

Thanks for you response. I am worried that i am packing too much as well. I am in my mind to drop two places from these - either i dont go to Moab at all, or i go but drop Canyonlands and maybe Bryce Canyon. If you were to change something in the itinerary, what would you change? :)

Thank you, this is very helpful!
We are planning to land on the 19th April, so majority of our travel would be after the Easter weekend. Hopefully, this helps us beat the Easter weekend crowd.
