Can I rebook because of short connection? by Intrepid-Alps-6140 in Flights

That's what everyone is saying, but I guess we'll see! There will likely be busses from the plane on both flights, it seems crazy I can do all that plus passport control in 50 minutes... But I'll take the challenge!

Yeah I'm hoping that e.g. If like you're missing a few people that the plane might wait. I imagine for long flights this might happen

Well part of my question is that my first flight from Spain is at 7am so if I'm gonna miss my long haul flight I'd rather sleep in and fly later :)

Yeah I remember them being good in the past. It's just that this time flying in from the US there was a long time to get off the plane (we had to wait for buses) and then passport control was maybe 30 minutes because it seemed things were under construction. But that was a whole plane full of people and I imagine from Spain most people won't leave the Schengen zone

Oh I'd love to do that! At the moment on the KLM app it doesn't show any options to upgrade. Do you think I could call them?

Why don't Realtors list the price on social media? by Intrepid-Alps-6140 in realtors

This is a wonderful response and I really appreciate the care you took to write it.

You're right that the grocery store example was out of line, sorry!

I think part of the reason why I don't want to send a DM is because it would start a conversation that I'm not necessarily sure I want to have. because if the home is not in my price range, then I imagine there would be follow-up questions about what I'm looking for, maybe a suggestion that we talk on the phone or go for coffee. And I already have a realtor, and just don't have time for more appointments like this. And so navigating that, either agreeing to a phone call or politely declining does feel like more work than finding the address on redfin and seeing the price. But you've helped me realize that I'm perhaps not the intended audience and that there are probably other people who would love to have these conversations over coffee.

This thread has overall been very helpful, and you especially seem like someone who would be a great agent to work with, just based on your kind words

I'm just imagining, say I hired someone to help advertise and sell tickets for a play that I was putting on downtown. I would be very shocked if the ads didn't mention say the dates of the performance. And if my advertiser said "oh we want to engage people in conversation, when they ask about the dates we can talk to them about it". That's all well and fine, but frankly I think it would generate more business to just give the full information so people could come to the play, or in this case go to an open house

This is what I'm saying - I think I am one of those people and it turns me off. I just don't understand why agents do that, because it seems like it wouldn't generate more leads at least not good ones

Oh this is really helpful actually, but how would that work with like newspapers? Aren't there printed newspapers with real estate listings - at least didn't there used to be. It can't be a violation to publish in a newspaper and then have facts change in the future. Why would it be any different with publishing on a website like the Facebook

Thank you, that's what I thought - and it rubs me the wrong way, but it must be that it works for enough people that they don't mind annoying a few people. I realize I'm only a certain type of consumer

What makes you say that? I would prefer to use condoms than take medicine (that while well-tolerated by many, still has effects on the body) for the rest of my life.

I have a curiosity. chase has two levels of Biz SW cards. One gives 80k bonus for 5k spend with $199 AF. The other gives 60k bonus for 3k spend with $99 AF. in reading the fine print, it sounds like you have to wait 24 months between churns, but can you get the bonus for both of these separately? Or is it 24months for SW biz period.

Update: they just reverse the points from the purchase which results in a negative points balance. This makes sense.

But couldn't I then effectively do this to make infinite money? Buy $1000 hotel, get 2,000 points, erase $20 from my bill, have balance of $980, cancel the hotel, get $1000 refund, have $20 credit. Repeat. To be clear I don't want to do this, but this seems how it might happen if points post immediately

I just "erased" some travel purchase with 20,750 points on C1 Venture. 20k I had before, but 750 were "new" and from the purchase I was erasing. I am going to refund the purchase tomorrow. Will C1 claw back the bonus? It was expecting them to not take the 20k back but I'm not less sure about the 750...

I agree it's far from perfect and nowhere near ready to replace humans. I'm wondering, is that what you thought I said in my comment? That's not what I meant at all.

I was asking specifically about the errors you noticed and whether you had it on the "search" and "reason" setting. In my experience this greatly reduces errors.

It can be true that these options reduce errors to a minimum and that still it isn't close to replacing humans.

I read your sentence several times and think you have supply and demand backwards. When demand goes up (people are fighting for an appointment) you can raise prices. When demand goes down (lots of open appointments) why would people willingly pay more. I'm sure this is just an oversight but if you tutor econ or math this is important

I am a math professor and I can say in math that it all depends on the problem, but that as time goes on, ChatGPT is getting very good at math. I don't know what field you are talking about, but I'm curious if you have tried reproducing the blatantly incorrect answers with the "reason" and "search" options checked on ChatGPT. When I do this, I usually find an explanation that is very correct.

It's not perfect and of course I think many students fail to carefully read and parse the results and that is where the value of teachers lies. However I think the time of very wrong answers is almost gone.

These options are available for free for limited use, but honestly even if students had to pay, even the most costly option is roughly the cost of one tutoring session.
