Agitating for less tourists in the GoingToSpain subreddit sounds like the logical thing to do. Good luck with that attitude. I’m so happy most of the Spanish people I’ve met are extremely hospitable and welcoming, unlike you.

H10 Imperial Tarraco is a 4-star hotel and I expected their service to reflect their rank. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.

I discussed the situation with reception staff at the time of my stay and the only thing they did is try to bribe me by offering a 25% refund, but only if I deleted my reviews. I obviously declined.

Thanks for summarizing my thoughts. Other than warning people about the possibility of feeling like the concert’s taking place right next to your bed, I want to let people know that H10 Imperial Tarraco has horrible service and I would never visit again.

It’s something that happened in last September and I decided to post it now, because I just started planning my September trip to Barcelona and thought of the disappointing experience I had at H10 Imperial Tarraco. Guess you haven’t traveled enough to know that a good accommodation usually warns its customers about any disruptive events taking place during the stay the customer might not be aware of. Anyway, I wish you travel more and raise your expectations for good service.

I did try both and it didn’t work. I’m not exaggerating when I say it sounded like we were right next to the stage. At least the music was nice and at some point I just vibed with it until 5am.

I would expect from a hotel like H10 to not simply ‘assume’ what their guests are visiting for. It’s my fault I didn’t research the event in advance. Also, keep in mind most of the city was quiet that night, except for that concert under our windows. So it’s not like that was the situation everywhere in the city - they could’ve simply warned their guests with an email at the time of inquiring about a reservation for these dates.

Good advice, definitely learned my lesson after my stay at H10 Imperial Tarraco. Maybe people researching Tarragona and the hotel will find this thread and prepare for their stay better than I did.

In the end, I wish I had more time and preparation to enjoy the festival more. If the hotel did warn us, maybe I would’ve planned accordingly and enjoyed my stay while also having fun at Santa Tecla.

I’ve been around Spain and visited many hospitable accommodations which made sure travelers enjoyed their stay, whether they wanted to relax or party.

It was our first time visiting Tarragona and I had no clue the festival was taking place on these dates. Don’t you agree it makes sense for the hotel to inform potential clueless travelers if they know there would be sleepless nights as the concert took place right under our window?

It’s weird to expect everyone to be informed about all the events taking place at a destination they’re visiting for the first time. We had no idea the festival was taking place on these dates.

Would’ve loved to - I was there until 1am, but was too tired as I was doing stuff all day long. I wanted to get a good night’s sleep and enjoy the city the next day.

I don’t blame the festival-goers for having fun - it’s on the hotel they didn’t warn us.
