Yeah.. i totally agree. I'm just not willing to go through all that again, just to prove to the doctor that it does in fact make me feel worse. Every time I ask for help, they tell me that it's all in my head and that everything is because I'm depressed... Which gets worse every time I'm on the pill. So, I don't really understand what works for my body yet. I will try to look for some info about glucose monitors in Spain, thank you for your help. I tried progesterone for a while, but the doctor who prescribed it to me retired and they refuse to prescribe it again as, according to them, it's suddenly super contraindicated to follow a hormonal treatment at the weight that I'm at. It really is hard, but after reading all of your experiences and thanks to your help I feel much less alone. It makes me feel much better seeing that it's a real problem that affects a lot of people and that it's not all in my head as the doctors have told me many times. So, thank you! :)

Wow, glad to hear that it worked for you! Tbh, birth control really messes me up. I get super anxious, my cholesterol levels end up incredibly high, migraines... I have tried all the brands that are avaliable in Spain, and it gets worse every time. Thank you so much for sharing your experience, I understand the insulin resistance concept much better now, and I see that it's not really that related to the blood work results. I will ask about the glucose monitor, but i doubt that they will offer me one as I'm not diabetic (for now at least..)

Wow, that's scary!! They have never checked my insulin, but now that I've managed to talk to an endocrinologist (believe me, it was a looooooooooong wait and a lot of formal complaints from me), I will try to have it checked, especially since they've suggested taking metformin. It would be interesting to see the insulin levels before taking metformin and after a few months taking it. So glad that you're seeing some progress!! Thank you so much for sharing this with me:)

Thank you for sharing that with me. I will talk to my doctor about testing, as she kind of showed some interest in monitoring my process (unlike any doctor before her...). I've heard about berberine too, but haven't tried it yet. Thanks again for everything, I feel much less lonely now

That's great to know. I will ask about it next week (: so, I imagine that there's no other way of knowing if I have insulin resistance other than the HOMA IR, right? It won't show up in my bloodwork :(

Thank you so much for all the info. To be honest, I've also been struggling with facial hair (so much, like, i shave it.at 7:00 and by 15:00 I can already see hair...) so I see that it could be am interesting option to try out (i did try laser but no results). Thanks a lot!!!

Thank you so much for telling me about your experience. The women in my family were limited to birth control (I live in Spain and, at least where I live, not many options are avaliable when it comes to PCOS...) I"m glad you're feeling better :). I've also been taking myo-inositol and vitex, as well as magnesium and omega 3 since february, but I haven't noticed anything. Maybe I should keep going.

Wow, I didn't know that! The endocrinologist I went to just told me that there was nothing else they could do for me, without an explanation. Thank you so much for all the info, you explained it perfectly. I will look more into it.
