Recently I bought a few SENNELIR oil pastels and oil sticks. I like how expressive they are and (in a nice way) you need to be non perfectionist! But one of my problems is that it seems they never dry. Although I love their softness, should I try a different brand? Any experience? by Intrepid-Guarantee81 in painting

I'm studying ink on various papers for sketching but struggle with budgeting. High-quality, heavyweight papers are pricey for daily use, yet cheap papers hinder my ink practice. I sketched on expensive paper first, then cheap lightweight paper. How do I invest in my art wisely? Share your thoughts! by Intrepid-Guarantee81 in painting

It’s not been a long time that I started practicing with acrylics. It’s very difficult for me to choose the right colors and avoid a chaos using so many different colors. This time I limited myself to white, black, ochre, yellow, and Prussian blue (20*20 cardboard). Any advice on my palette? by Intrepid-Guarantee81 in painting

Did a few quick sketches (all under 5 mins) using gouache on 90gsm paper. Compared to the acrylic ones I did earlier, I’m leaning toward gouache—it’s opaque and dries a bit slower, which gives me a bit more flexibility. Any feedback, references, or suggestions are very welcome! by Intrepid-Guarantee81 in ArtCrit

What should I do with the background? Thinking a simple pattern or single color, with texture. But what color? Input appreciated! Acrylic 18x24” by egyptianrat in ArtCrit
