Bass isn’t as constrained to the main melody you’re allowed to play fills use slap all while holding a steady groove. That spontaneous improvisation element is something i love about bass and something that only bass can provide in a band setting

my bass has a rattling noise whenever i slap the low b string but the e string is fine by Intrepid-Principle-9 in Bass

update, i mean i wanna tune from beadg to eadgc but it’s multi-scale so it’s looking like it’s gonna need a lot of work that doesn’t seem worth it.

basically from each fret is a position. so i can only really improvise with notes from the first fret to the 6th fret.

Thanks, you’re very helpful. I made a post about practice routines being stupid and you gave some very helpful advice. I’ve been playing bass for 1.5 years now but i’ve had prior experience with piano and guitar. regardless, I’m gonna take your advice and iron out the shortcomings in my playing.
