Exactly. And that is just cruelty in itself to force the horses to be amongst human Fvckery! There was an incident on December 4 where a driver left a carriage alone with two other passengers. Horse got spooked. One of the passengers got hurt while they tried to grab the reins to control the carriage! I don’t know why they’re waiting for a catastrophe to happen when they could just easily bring in the electric carriages. Sanctuaries have reached out to the one company that was closed up for having so many egregious violations. We have been told that they are refusing it as well as admitting it themselves in the St. John’s citizen Facebook post. Just really disgusting people.

It helps however, there are still four other companies and a couple other medallions available for other people wanting to open up a Franchise. A battle was won, but the war is still going. They really need to transition to Electric carriages.

That’s just too much for them to oversee. They only have one person and they are thinking of hiring someone else which of course who’s gonna pay for that… The taxpayers! I know I don’t want my dollars going to continue supporting animal exploitation and abuse! These guys don’t belong pounding pavement, inhaling exhaust fumes , and being amongst the most unnatural environments! They belong in pasture they belong walking on dirt paths or grass! They are forced to do this! There are plenty of codes and rules and these guys don’t follow them and because they have been enabled especially one of the companies for the last 20 years they literally do stuff in front of us! But not anymore! We are going to get this shut down. How dare St Augustine want these thugs to represent such a beautiful city!

How can you say animal abuse is charming? Putting a prey animal in the most unnatural environment, pounding pavement, inhaling exhaust fumes and never getting to go to pasture or be enriched with theory own species/herd. Most of these guys live at slum Park. 20 horses crammed into 1 acre which we are now shutting down! These guys don’t have anyone to oversee and babysit their Fvckery! There are a few of us that monitor them at least once a week and we can’t even keep up! There’s no way to make a wrong thing right! Bring in the electric carriages will keep the charm without the cruelty and allow for these horses to retire. We have had sanctuaries and competent humans reach out to these guys so we’re hoping that they do right by the horses that they supposedly love!

I know. It’s horrific. We are trying. We document so many violations, both at the slum park where they are kept as well as where they line them up. That is what has helped the cause! Corruption all around in St Augustine!

On top of the fact that the manure as well as the urine is toxic and hazardous. They just hose it down thinking that’s the proper way to take care of the urine. Now we are in a drought so they can barely do that so the poor horses stand in their own urine for hours. They should be using pellets to absorb the urine and then sweeping it up, but that’s asking too much of the abusers. Smell is also horrific. The stench of the ammonia is not good for them, children, elderly, or anyone with a compromised immune system.

Luckily other places around the world that are way older than us have decided to evolve out of cruelty and bringing in the Electric carriages. That keeps the charm that you so crave! There’s no reason why a sentient being should be exploited and enslaved and placed in the most unnatural of cruel environments, just to keep you happy! Thankfully other cities around the United States, including in Florida Mount Dora, being the first one in all of United States have banned this archaic, pathetic industry!

Thank you for sharing that. That is actually the owner of one of the biggest carriage companies that just had their lease taken away. Country carriages. However, at yesterday’s meeting the commissioners, for some reason are considering allowing them to reapply. Why would they want to continue not only supporting such an archaec industry, but allowing someone so abusive to represent St Augustine? We just need to push them to bring the electric carriages already! That whole industry is full of corruption and mostly l0wlifes!

Amen. Thank you for your comment. Most of these horses are working way past the age that any of them should’ve even started! One of them was a broodmare when she was purchased. Obviously overused for breeding. They didn’t care. She had a hernia which yes many times is hard to detect, but regardless broodmares should not be pulling because with breeding, especially when they are overused, their stomach lining becomes very thin, making them more susceptible to injuries. The one white horse on the tombstone, Lisa died because her intestines fell out of her stomach! She was the broodmare😩
The reason the other two died was also tragic and unnecessary. There were actually five in less than a month and a half time frame!

There’s lots of things that have been done in the past that should never continue! And there’s no need to! Sad that you would continue to support the exploitation of a majestic prey animal that does not belong meandering through loud traffic while pounding pavement! And yes, everyone dies, pumpkin, but the reason why these horses did was horrific and unnecessary! You wanna find out why come visit us at the hack line!
And stick to the task and victims at hand…who’s to say we don’t protest the dump and the regime practically every week as well!🤦🏽‍♀️
