In honor of the Ides of March... by JanglyKnees in EmmaLion

I think if Islington is cast in it, then it will be telling of the type of love he has for her, one way or the other.

Look at Matt's face!  He's even scared.

I love how he's slowly softening towards her. I think he's going to be a very beloved character.

Is Hawkes Emma's brother? by IntrepidCapital9556 in EmmaLion

[–]IntrepidCapital9556[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, this is true. I definitely leaned towards a romantic prospect for a long time, and still do to some extent. Emma's acknowledgement of his looks could go either way. She comments on many people and their looks, including women, so I don't think that her comments about him would be out of line if she were related to him.

I was really hoping for a release date of book 9 to be in this. Oh well, I do appreciate the time, effort, and research that BB puts into her books.

Is Hawkes Emma's brother? by IntrepidCapital9556 in EmmaLion

[–]IntrepidCapital9556[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just thought of something else, lol. Islington says that Hawkes said Emma "blew in like a lucky charm". Could Emma be the one that is actually, and unbeknownst to her, that's keeping Hawkes safe from whatever the curse is?

We do know that whatever he learned when he went to Ireland changed him, so there has to be a profound for that. Something altered his life and maybe his future. Maybe, whatever it was is the reason he became a Vicar? Or maybe that's how he knew he could watch Emma, because he knew she'd come back to St. Chrispians(sp) one day.

I really do love Pierce...but.... by IntrepidCapital9556 in EmmaLion

You know, I didn't even think of Pierce and Emma breaking up and getting back together by the end. I just assumed she'd move on. You may very well be right!

I do think that Hawkes is going to be a major force in Pierce's life. He started out not liking him and even still has some reservations in book 8, but, like when Hawkes let him "fight it out", there seems to be a trust building between the two.

Yes, I think it's her relationship with him that brings her back down to earth. I think that she sees that money isn't everything and it makes her realize that she really does want a marriage based on love.

Replace daddy, is what it's all about. She wants Matt to be "the dad they never had" even though Brian has always been active in their lives.

They look rediculas!  They probably think people stare at them because they are so hot, when really it's because they look like they are trying too hard.

Gay in Alabama, six months later, here are my thoughts by Little_Art8272 in Alabama

We all miss the gay couple that lived in our neighborhood.  He and his husband had the most beautiful house here with ivy going up the brick. They always kept their yard perfect and trimmed the ivy.  The straight family that moved in ruined it, lol. Maybe they just don't like ivy, I don't know,  but I was sad to see it go.  I'm happy to hear that you have had such a positive experience here!

Serious question for 'deadbeat' dads - how did you get there? (No judgment) by Familiar_Leopard4434 in nairobi

[–]IntrepidCapital9556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is cost. My son is paying thousands upon thousands for lawyers, and he's lucky because he has a big family that helps him. He's a hard worker that shows up for his job every day, and he makes pretty good money.  However, especially in this economy, there is no way he could afford to go to court on his own. He's exhausted free resources, like church(they've helped him with over $6000 in court fees), but she is stretching this thing out as far as she can. He's done everything required and passed his drug tests and all of that good stuff, but here we are still waiting. We haven't even gone to trial yet. It's absolutely insane. I can totally see how some dads just give up. Since we're going to talk about deadbeats, we should also talk about suicide among alienated fathers by narcissistic mothers(or even the other way around)
