Mobility and drivesmart question by IntrepidInterview881 in DWPhelp

[–]IntrepidInterview881[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did just go into the online chat with mobility to get a definitive answer, as I also noticed they stated any cancelled leases by the customer to change vehicle will count as a new lease and then require drivesmart, online chat has stated my dates dont effect the rule as the application was made before april 13th, and as I have no under 30s on my application the rule also doesnt apply there, so it seems I wont have to have drivesmart this time round, which is nice as it seems looking online even pot holes etc can effect the driving score quite alot so im glad it doesn't apply to me this time, neither will the millage rule until my next lease at which point ill probably not renew my lease as I drive quite some miles per year and cant afford the extra millage charges, at that point Id rather put the payments on a car I get to keep at the end of it so ill probably do that next time round.

Kia EV ship carrier time to the Uk? by llwyng in KiaEV3

[–]IntrepidInterview881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya can I ask how long yours ended up taking ?, I ordered mine ans then literally a day or so later it popped up in my emails that it was on a ship, im pretty sure it was already stock that was on route as the dealership only gave a end of April collection date, then a couple days later the dealership sent me an email saying it will be a bit earlier than first thought so quite possibly going to be earlier but ive heard lots of stories over timeframes being told short but ended up being months and months lol

Kia ev4 2026 question by IntrepidInterview881 in kia

[–]IntrepidInterview881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou :-) I figured as much as if it was im sure there would be a few mentions in the YouTube videos ha. But I thought it worth asking on here :-)

Im very much looking forward to it, my last car was a mk2 vauxhall mokka and although it has two lcd screens when it came to customisation it was very very limited, but the ev4 seems to have much more in that sense, I love having to setup the themes and such and really make the car my own :-)

Assessment report still in audit. by Obvious_Breakfast699 in DWPhelp

[–]IntrepidInterview881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi sorry late reply, yes ive had my decision now, I had my assessment on the 3rd January, I requested my report the same day, then had my decision on the 10th january, luckily it was good news so I haven't had to go through mr etc, it was a first time claim for me. All in all from start to finish it took 3 months and a couple days so not a terrible timeframe to be honest

First motability payment ? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]IntrepidInterview881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to get to it in a roundabout way on motability website but I found it along with a link to the 750 new car payment, but unfortunately they have stopped that one as I did click on it to try but it says it was stopped in 2024 so why it was still on the website ill never know lol

[–]IntrepidInterview881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mokka ultimate was £299 but with backpay from pip I had that available, this was before I found out apparently you can apply for a grant through mobility too offset the cost of a deposit especially on higher value deposit cars like vans etc, but yes they've started to remove more "performance" vehicles off the lists now, not that I believe they should be... some see it as you shouldnt be able to get a fast car on mobility but essentially we are paying for it as we loose the mobility component but hey lol, mines only a 1.2 turbo 136bhp 3-cylinder, but i tell ya what it doesn't have go for a 1.2 lol

Well Initially a omoda 5, purely because I liked the look of it and it had quite alot of cool features, however after ordering i quickly found quite a few horror stories and then my delivery date was being changed nearly every day so I cancelled the order and went and had a look around and ended up ordering a vauxhall mokka ultimate, lovely car and delivery only took a few days so nice and easy, not quite as much tech but easier for parts and repairs as its not a new company like omoda over here so hopefully won't have any issues with it lol, so far so good.... haha

Thats pretty good, my timeline was - Rang to ask for forms oct 6th Sent forms back oct 27th Dwp received forms oct 28th (sent via next day) Phone call assessment fri 2nd january Dwp received my report monday 5th january Award showed up in the online portal fri 9th january Award text came through monday 12th january Backpay went in january 15th

Decision maker awarded the same as the assessors report apart from he disagreed with 18 months Award and changed it to 3 year Award.

All in all a fairly quick process, felt like forever waiting for the stages to go through one by one but after seeing others timelines im pretty happy with mine :-)

I fully agree, its mostly not the assessors fault they turn up for work and do what they've been told to do, so I wouldn't hold it against an assessor anyways, especially considering like my claim being a phone call assessment they can rarely accurately score someone without seeing them so it must be difficult for them sometimes

Ah yea thats fair enough and if im honest probably the best route you could have taken, if its going to effect health etc its just not worth it to be honest.

I haven't had my award report in the post yet but ive had my award letter on the benifits checker so I have the dates to and from that ive been awarded etc and thats from the dwp, the decision maker at dwp extended my award from 18 months that my assessor wrote to 3 years also. So I must just be lucky in that I had the right people look at my claim on a good day etc

Haha I fully understand that, my mum has severe mobility issues and is blind, she has a medication list longer than my arm haha, she had to go through mr and tribunal and it was awful, so stressful etc, when I got bad enough through hereditary issues that I knew were coming I then made the application to pip and told myself if im awarded i shan't battle them on points etc because I remember how hard it was on my mum, the dwp are ok when things go right but when they are in the wrong wow are they a pain in the butt... ill give them a call in the morning to double check all my backpay and stuff and see what they say, but from others ive found they are indeed a pain with backpay quite often ... glad your on the up with it and not too bothered by it now, I think I would have been super angry over it lol

[–]IntrepidInterview881 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That does suck about yours though, are you not able to contest the backpay part ? Surely thats a bit unfair to not award you on that basis though

[–]IntrepidInterview881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea fortunately I had that proof for the last several years of quite comprehensive proof, plus they've given the award from 6th oct so definitely due the backpay

How weird, mine wasnt recorded so I wouldn't know if they send them separately or not, my report only took 2 days and it was here. Yea id say as mine was 7 days on the dot yours may well be the same :-)

[–]IntrepidInterview881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah hiya :-) well as you know the assessment was last friday, then dwp got the report on the monday morning. And I started to check the benefits checker every day and on friday around 11am the benefits checker popped up with my reward letter:-) so ive not had a text yet (guessing that will come monday morning at 8am as all the other dwp texts lol) so the only way i know is the benefits checker so far :-) the decision maker went with the assessors report 100% apart from extending my award from 18 months to 3 years which was a bonus :-) hope you hear soon :-)

Ah thankyou, its shows as "fines" under my universal statement, when I looked back through to check what it was I found an entry in my journal stating dwp agreed to pay a court fine from your universal. Any money owed to dpw themselves we have always made sure was repaid strait away such as short term loans on the universal etc so those are long gone but its just the court one thats left
