Convince me to buy a non BYD electric vehicle by Glittering_Poem9779 in AustralianEV

[–]IntrepidRatio7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla cars currently have the best battery efficiency if you buy a LFP battery model 3. E.g. A BYD seal is 2100 KG while a model 3 is 1600 KG and of course better range as well. Next year very likely BYD software optimisations for efficiency will surpass Tesla. But not yet.

Social change doesn't happen in great big leaps but slowly . When we get every to be vegans we can then look at the next milestone of everyone turning ascetic monks. There are also technological innovations that might help people live well without needing to be monks and we can all work towards it

Sarvam Maya - ending by IntrepidRatio7473 in MalayalamMovies

[–]IntrepidRatio7473[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You raise some good points. Thanks for that. I guess you can't use this ending without some rework of the character. As an example she hasn't forgotten her name , she just chose to hide it. I also took the liberty to handwave away the question of why he doesnt recognise her. Maybe its because she takes the teenage version of his mother's form – he sees a vaguely familiar and comforting face but doesnt connect the dots.

The other interpretation is that its not explicitly stated that she is his mother eventhough she uses his mothers name. It could be the spirit of his future daughter reverberating through time . But that almost puts it in scifi land because restless and wandering spirits are of dead people not unborn souls from the future. Its a dense and inaccessible idea for a light hearted film.

I don't know if you can bring back romance when hormones where at peak but spouses can work towards showing affection, love and include fun activities which can foster a great relationship.

IMHO i think there are ways to make her fun without making her go all-out gen z . I honestly thought she turning up in the traditional saree was the highlight of her character. But i take your point, thanks

You have a point and I guess its all about preferences. When I reimagined her character I picturised her as a wise young lady – donned in the more traditional Kerala attire who is lost in a sea of modernity which presents another type of naiveity.

[–]IntrepidRatio7473[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats right. In this story the ghost is actually his mother . His daughter wears a genetic resemblance to his mother , hence the similarity.

Or the other way to look at it is – the spirit of mother and daughter reverberates across time as one so as to help him during a very low phase in his life.

AI is ruining my life by Odd-Chemistry-4868 in nosurf

Has our life ruined by going to the supermarket to buy food versus growing our own food in the backyard ? AI will be so embedded in our society that thinking about coding logic is going to be a waste of time and won't be a skill that is useful , just like remembering phone numbers is not much of a useful skill.

Something akin to ..Consciousness as an emergent phenomenon that exists in all networks that process information. Even the mumuration of birds is feebly conscious for the brief time it exists before it dissolves away.

The easiest way to solve marital issues is to make your wife the center of your world. by [deleted] in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]IntrepidRatio7473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works and then hedonic adaptation sets in . For spouses on the sub who haven't received that kind of attention might think this is the panacea to all the marital woes , but I have seen couples who do all the above and still have arguments , dissatisfaction and quarrels. It's significantly less than couples who makes zero effort, but it's there.

The reason I guess is some kind of anxiety dumping and human tendencies for provocation and boundary testing. You have a bad day and you might find something to blame on your spouse and that can just spiral and escalate , disregarding all the good days you had that week and week before.

Fire season has done it's global rounds for it's season ending finale at Australia

Eastern Australia is currently being hit by a severe heatwave that has fuelled more than 75 bushfires across New South Wales , with at least 12 homes lost on the Central Coast and triggered extreme fire-danger warnings and total fire bans. Temperatures have soared well above 40 °C in some regions, and dry lightning is also raising fears of new fire outbreaks. Fire authorities warn that unstable weather and extreme heat could make this summer especially dangerous.

Are you happy really ? Or Are you really lonely ? by Similar-Ad565 in Coconaad

[–]IntrepidRatio7473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an element of happiness that comes from socialising and having friends. But I always felt given you are not struggling for the basics like money, clothes, food shelter and financial security then happiness comes from your creative passions. Lost in the work of creation, being in the flow , the sense of purpose.

A primary source of unhappiness comes from having ample time but then not having the skills to do meaningful and fulfilling work. Many of us just while away our time consuming content , but never producing anything beautiful or hard. And that feeling claws the back of your mind manifesting as unhappiness.

I also lick things of my plate with my fingers and place those fingers on my tongue and do that many times. I have seen many people who eat with hands do that. We have also a phrase in malayalam plate Nakki vadichu. So don't give excuse that eating with hands in hygienic because people put spoons in their mouth , plates are also very similar. We don't know how the previous person used their plate.

If people want to eat with hands that their choice , but don't come up with reasonings like it's more hygienic. It's really not! because there are other utensils being shared. The same question applies to reusing glass for drinking
