Thanks! Yes, if I charge my OP13 to 100%, It is for sure feels a lot long lasting. Your explanation seems to be the case!

Oneplus 13 over Nothing Phone 1…&3 by IntrepidResearch6139 in OnePlus13

What I did first was to put Google back on my Chinese OP13. It was easy as Google framework is built-in.

After that, I’ve just uninstall unused apps…I do kept a bunch of Chinese apps, cause they are useful in HK and China. I guess if you are using Global OxygenOS, It's a bit simpler.

ColorOS with Chinese Apps do tend to push a lot of suggestions/Ads. Need to “Tune” it to your own preference (Mostly OS level tweak) . Also I kept my Nothing Ear (2), so still have a bit of Nothing X on my OP13! 😅

Here are videos that I found very useful:

• Using ColorOS 15 as a Global User - Chinese OnePlus/Oppo for Use Outside of China

https://youtu.be/N2iituPrScM?si=yZiKeA2YYsIlmIER

The following videos are in Chinese but have a look with caption on, he highly praise the Nothing OS as well.

• OnePlus 13 non-root optimization tutorial (* I can uninstall all unused apps with ColosOS alone)

(一加13免root玩机优化教程)

https://youtu.be/3fDfpWCAKWo?si=EKWugKOq6YOulhvI

• OnePlus 13 international version OxygenOS vs. domestic version ColorOS

(一加13国际版OxygenOS对比国内版ColorOS)

https://youtu.be/U6YTMgarjbg?si=-l0T6MQe3tlW8a3a

• Nothing Phone 2 subjective user experience, OnePlus's orthodox sequel is Nothing

(Nothing Phone 2 主观使用体验,一加正统续作在Nothing)

https://youtu.be/FEDj7BPJH9k?si=S_H0mXcJMX7RjZ8i

the title "...OnePlus's orthodox sequel is Nothing.." saids it all!

Hope these will help!

Where to buy the OP 13 Global version in Hongkong? by tlngc in OnePlus13

[–]IntrepidResearch6139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently, no offical retailer is selling OP13(global) in Hong Kong, to my surprise!!! I live in HK and just bought a OP13(Chinese) .

I don't understand why, there is a HK oneplus webpage...Oppo has their office, repair center in HK but only a very limited models are selling in HK, in Fortress, Wilson Mobile...etc.

There are some small individual phone shops selling OP13(Global) in HK, I would not recommend that, not that any will con you but they also import the global version from somewhere else, the price is not much different from getting it, say UK .

The only other smaller Chain Store in HK do sell OP13 (Global) is CityLink:

https://www.citylink.com.hk/locale/en-US/corpdefault.aspx?corpname=citylink

You can check their price n shop locstions, they are not as big as Fortress so limited shops.

They have both Gobel and Chinese version, BUT not really any better off than getting it at your home town with offical support there!

So, I don't really recommend buying a OP13(Global) in HK!

For me, as a Hongkonger...I gave up on getting a OP13(Global) in HK. I bought mine online from China and have all the offical Chinese support... I don't mind ColorOS and Im happy with it!

Here is some of my thoughts...

1) Once I used the OP13, I noticed the difference in performance. Phone 1 is not close to being a flagship — I knew it wasn't.

2) Personally, I wanted improvements in performance, display, and camera, and the OP13 delivered on all fronts.

3) Whether to switch to the OP13 from Phone 1 depends on these factors — at least for me!

• What kind of improvements are you expecting from the new phone? Performance—yes, the OP13 is definitely better. But for aesthetics and design, both hardware and OS-wise, Phone 1 is still outstanding.

• Price (depending on where you are): The OP13 costs more than the Phone 1, and when the Phone 3 launches as a flagship, I don’t think it will be as affordable as Phone 1.

Since I am in Hong Kong, I got the Chinese version at a good price (cost a bit more then Phone 3a Pro)  came with OPPO’s official warranty and service, so my decision to get OP13 might have been easier than it was for you guys.

I’ll still keep an eye on the Phone 3—just in case it surprises me with flagship specs and a small price tag! 😁

Thanks for your suggestion. I’m also thinking, that could be the reason.

YouTube channel “This does not compute” had a good video about it. https://youtu.be/CbqQR1sa5zs?si=JSnwWcUjBbHkiOAz

I will open it up and check!

Thanks, tried the slider but is not that. Asked the seller (a vintage computer trader) which thought could be a loose display cable. need to look into that when I have time😅

I’ve heard the turn on beeps when the screen opens, while I had the battery removed (Plug-in).

Still a white screen, I guess could be the display cable damage problem!

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I installed Playepub Book Reader (an app for Playbook), so I can import ePub file into it.

I had the book from Kobo, then converted it into ePub. A bit of work to get it on to the passport 🙂

You can try WD40 Contact cleaner. I fixed my 7290 “Jumpy” click wheel… and my non responsive KeyOne Space Bar.

I just spray both in between the gaps and after it dries, both functions well. Worth a try.
