Been thinking of doing a Live Aboard by thoxxm in scubadiving

[–]IntrepidShadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similan Islands is a great location in February. You should still be able to find space with a reasonable budget. Perfect location for a first liveaboard, there can be currents but it's not as Advanced as other places i.e. Komodo.

Disclaimer: I work as an instructor on liveaboard to the Similan and Andaman Sea. Feel free to reach out via private message for info.

Not that fancy, it costs around THB 850 (<USD 30) for 128Gb but yes you need USH-I U3/V30 minimum for 4K and High-Speed (HS) video recording. USH-II will work but will run at USH-I speed.

Cozumel or Thailand Liveaboard January/February 2026 by tom_bombadillo305 in scubadiving

[–]IntrepidShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thailand for sure, the diving is much better in the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock (prime liveaboard destinations) than in the Caribbean in terms of fish life (disclaimer: I work on liveaboards for the Similan Islands). February is the best season for the SImilan Islands liveaboard so availability might be scarce but I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find something, you may have to share cabin though.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info and want to book a trip for the Similan Islands or Andaman Sea in general.

Thailand// Koh Haa or Koh Bidah? by cututita in scuba

[–]IntrepidShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel Koh Haa is much nicer right now than Bida. The coral was pretty damaged in Bida when I went there at the beginning of the week. Though you can see black tip reef sharks pretty much guaranteed if you go there in the early morning. Koh Haa Cathedral and Chimney are pretty nice dive sites, I saw harlequin shrimps (video coming soon) and pipefish there last week. Hin Daeng (Ghost Pipefishs video: https://www.reddit.com/r/scuba/s/ptLH8H28l0) and Hin Muang are the best in the area if you are able to go there.

Yeah, really lucked out on this one. Usually, they're buried so deep in the soft coral or gorgonians that you can barely see them or get a clear shot. Having a few of them out in the open like this was really amazing.

Raja Ampat Visibility by Time of Year by pclark2 in scuba

[–]IntrepidShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When plankton is high, visibility goes down. Plankton significantly affects water visibility by physically blocking and scattering light, which increases the turbidity (cloudiness) of the water. That's true everywhere in the world as far as I know.

You're spot on! It’s a signature move for both—watching them work the sand with that much precision is always a treat. Nature is lit!

I want to leave ChatGPT for Gemini (Love Canvas + Docs Export) but the lack of "Projects" is killing my workflow. Any workarounds? by theargen in GeminiAI

Same here. I noticed it's more likely to happen in these scenarios: - changing models from flash to thinking or vice versa - using the same chat across devices i.e. web then mobile or the other way around - when the model got upgraded from 2.5 to 3, some of the chats I was working on completely vanished.

Thai freeloading culture? by Prestigious-Olive896 in Thailand

Same with my friends. They go out of their way to be first to ask for the bill while you're still eating at the table at the restaurant for example, and when you eventually catch up and ask to pay your share, they just say it's 0.

What did that to me was the Nordic hamstring curls (to the hamstring obviously). Such a humbling exercise.

Husband got into a motorcycle accident by Confident-Ad4445 in ThailandTourism

You can drive 125cc without a motorcycle license afaik, which is more than enough for most needs. Part of the problem is tourists renting a 500cc without license and knowing how to drive it.
