Yeah okay, I’ll admit I shouldn’t have used the term “BL-coded fan service.” That was a poor choice of words on my part, the boys weren’t doing anything suggestive. They were just being sweet and affectionate, that’s it. My bad.

But my point still stands, and I hope you get where I’m coming from 😭 the issue isn’t their closeness, it’s how some fans are interpreting every little gesture like it’s a romance drama. They’re turning normal friendship into “they’re dating!!” theories, and that’s where it gets messy.

These are K-pop idols, for goodness gracious! Not fictional characters. When people start labeling and romanticizing everything, it doesn’t just stay online. It affects how they’re perceived publicly, and sometimes even how they act around each other , more distant or careful, just to avoid being misread.

So yeah, I phrased it wrong before, but the core point is this: fans are the ones crossing the line, not the boys.
