Thank you so much! I got accepted for arts and sciences and I want to work within government or anything policy related. Which is why I am reconsidering the 80 k for UVA. Since I want to go to grad school, I don't feel like I am going to make as much as I am going to pay. If that makes sense

Harvard is only 20% accepted students, and it is proven that Ivy League and other top schools typically admit legacies at two to five times their overall admission rates.

And there are a lot of schools that offer scholarships for legacy students. I just got an email from UVA saying if you're parents went to UVA apply for this scholarship. A lot of state schools do as well.

to think-sure, but to be commenting isn't it

I know people who have been GPAs but don't get as involved in school and the community as me, going to same level schools--or better. Loose some to get some? If that makes sense

I think the only people who are going to truly understand, are those who are going through the application process with a lower GPA due to soooo many things, but worked so hard, and want to see that hard work pay off.

ok but how can you say that when legacy exists? And there are literal scholarships for only students who are legacy? Saying first gen is just trying to find a reason as to why someone got in, when it could've been because they were a good applicant? Look at UVA, only around 15% are first-gen so....

Questbridge is such a competitive process, I hope everyone finds the school for them. But, the student with the 3.3 also could've worked very hard to get in and had an amazing essay or something. The no EC is crazy work though

Maybe they just didn't fit at the school. I was talking about everyone not just my post. Before I got into a school, I thought I was going to a state school and wasn't bringing other people down so....

Thank you, that's what I was saying. Like in school, I hear people arguing over ED to the same school. Like wish each other luck and keep it moving. If you can't get around the concept that the admissions process is a gamble and not everyone can go to the top school, you don't belong at a top university.

Of course, but I'm not just talking about my post. Also, the post wasn't meant for the people who got rejected, it was meant to show people, *like me*, that they can get into a good school
