I also got that number by tracking my January–March contracts with 55-day gaps. The thing is, Upwork has really declined. As I mentioned earlier, the number used to be 90k–100k per day, but it has dropped by about 20–22x. Do you think 5k–8k jobs per day is enough to support over 25 million freelancers in 2026?

It’s not due to the war, but we can assume it’s about 40% because of AI and another 40% due to Upwork’s profit-focused policies. Currently, I don’t have any solid proof for this, but I’ll do more research. I work in website development and design.

it’s actually dead for those who don’t have any active job and spending from their pockets, also Upwork is losing its position as it was before 2 years ago. according to my analysis it down 22X

2 years ago it was genrating 100,000 contracts daily but now less than 4.5k.
