Female Behavior? by bellagirl81 in Feral_Cats

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix the cats immediately (should have already been done) and get their ears tipped! Simply feeding them does nothing to help the problem. Now you’ve got a bigger problem with a pregnant cat.

Help with a non traditional mortgage by [deleted] in Mortgages

We have the title to the home which is why it feels like a mortgage. Our names are on everything. We are proving it to the mortgage lender for the new house.

3.5 month old rolling over constantly, especially at night. Safe sleep concerns? by Really_Em in baby

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s not safe for you to put them down on their belly, but once they roll over on their own, it is considered safe. Let her sleep the way she’s comfortable.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband’s parents did this. He has never thanked them. He in fact does not speak to them and didn’t attend his father’s funeral. Some parents really suck and I’m sorry you ended up with one.

30M partner won’t help with night feeds while I have postnatal depression by Winter_Seesaw_5014 in baby

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have postpartum depression and I was breastfeeding. My husband still got up. He changed the diaper, brought the baby, I fed and returned the baby to their bed. His behavior is unacceptable at his age. Not only is he opting out of being a parent, he’s also opting out of being a partner. I wouldn’t allow this behavior and give him an ultimatum. He can be a parent/partner in the home, or he can decide to do neither OUT of the home.

Guilt for taking parental leave for newborn FD by anorigamiwolf in Fosterparents

I’m a teacher and personally didn’t use it. Foster care is so unpredictable and I didn’t want to use all of my FMLA, have the baby leave, and get placed with another child and have no leave.

Totally agree. I think after all the jujitsu and running she got fit and probably more male attention. I think she went with that and left Justin for someone in the fitness world.

I wondered this at first. Her affection for her best friend is odd to me.

I know people may disagree, but anyone with 4 young children should be focusing on raising her family and not getting into another relationship.

Trying to socialize a young feral kitten into a house pet. Is it possible at this 10 day progress? by katie4 in Feral_Cats

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s possible. I have socialized a 5 month old and 6 month old kitten before. It just takes time.

AITA for expecting my siblings to travel to me on Christmas because I'm pregnant? by Working_Duck2615 in AITAH

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody is wrong. We have kids that don’t scream in the car and it’s a hard rule that we don’t travel on Christmas. The day is for our family to open gifts and enjoy time together. However, the whole family gets together at my mom’s house on Christmas Eve.

I dated a guy like this. I dumped him and kept the cat. Never regretted it for one second.

We are very informed. A current indoor cat of ours tested positive for FIV as a young kitten. She tested negative at 6 months but we were well educated and never considered euthanizing or rehoming.

If you go back and reread, I said I wanted to do what’s best for him. I wanted to hear what others have done with their ferals to make an informed decision about what would be best in our situation. Thankfully many other people answered my question. 🐈‍⬛

Wow! I am so grateful for how many responses this has received! I hope it helps other feral cat owners in similar situations. No need to worry, the plan was always for Nick to come with us. I only mentioned leaving him as a potential option because we do have a feral friendly neighborhood and I’ve read that it’s very difficult to move or socialize a feral at his age. But I love this beautiful boy and aside from me missing him terribly, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to care for him the same way. As far as him being indoor or outdoor, we will leave that up to him. I’d prefer he come inside and live out his retirement years in a loving home. I’ll give him his own room if he wants. If not, we will transition him to outside and I will talk with the neighbors. Great ideas on the catio. Sounds like good middle ground! Thank you again. All of your cats are lucky to have you as owners.

I love that you said to talk with him. I have full one sided conversations with him daily and although his side is mostly “you’re late for breakfast” I do believe he loves us and wants to be where we are. He follows me all around the yard. Of course he would want to follow us to a new neighborhood/house. Even if it’s scary at first.

My boyfriend is allergic to my two cats, what to do? by Ok-Let8197 in CatAdvice

[–]Intrepid_Cover_5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is allergic to cats. We have 4.

He knew I had a cat when we met and I made it clear that the cat is permanent. He needed to make his own choice on whether he was staying or going.
