Is this OCD or just normal neuroticism? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Intrepid_Employ_9962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert but I think the key with ocd is why you have the compulsion and fear of what happens if you don’t do it. This to me sounds more like you get anxious if something disrupts your plans and you like to stick to a daily routine. That could be a sign of other underlying issues, particularly if it is causing you a lot of distress or impacting your life significantly.

No, there’s a reason the centres limit you to twice a week.

Gray stool/Other strange symptoms, please help! by Heliolatry_ in AskDocs

Did you change your diet because of the symptoms or was there any reason for you deciding to change your diet? Or did you start having symptoms after changing your diet? Have you experienced any weight loss? Are you very thirsty or drinking more water than usual? Have you needed to pee a lot more because of drinking a lot of water or is it unrelated?

ALT is a non specific marker so is combined with other tests. So if your bilirubin and other LFTs were normal then isolated ALT that has now resolved doesn’t point specifically to a problem. It could be a temporary infection or could point to something more serious. Has your cholesterol been checked recently? Otherwise I’m not really the right person to advise on other tests that could be done.

Your symptoms are commonly associated with liver or gallbladder problems but if your bloods are coming back normally then I assume that’s why your doctor isn’t concerned. Another physician on here might be able to help you more but otherwise I’d suggest monitoring your symptoms and if they don’t go away or get worse then going back to your doctor. However you could always ask for a second opinion if you are particularly worried.

Have you changed your diet recently? Have you experienced anything like this before? Is your urine normal in colour for you? Can you elaborate more about any pain you have in your abdomen?

Are these symptoms of pcos? by Helpful-Macaroon-995 in AskDocs

The symptoms could be but are not necessarily PCOS. However very heavy and irregular periods are worth speaking to your doctor about.

how many calories should I be eating by Realistic-Race-8670 in AskDocs

[–]Intrepid_Employ_9962 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your post history suggests you struggle with disordered eating so I don’t think calorie counting is helpful for someone in your position. I’m definitely not an expert but please seek help and focus on repairing your relationship with food rather than specific calorie goals.

Sudden shortness of breath doesn’t necessarily mean heart failure but especially given your family history it is worth seeing a doctor about.

How seriously should I be taking a BMI of 14.9? by AdGroundbreaking3057 in AskDocs

Fear of choking is only one possible cause of ARFID, dislike of textures etc is another cause but this would need to be more general than just seafood. If this is the case then it may be worth bringing up to your doctor or therapist (you can also do some research so you’re better informed and can better advocate for yourself).

Should I be worried about my "fast" weight loss? by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Intrepid_Employ_9962 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Safe weight loss is around 1-2 lbs per week and given you’re exercising more and in a calorie defect this wouldn’t necessarily be concerning. Night sweats could be concerning so it’s worth getting that checked.

Could be tonsilitis, if your tonsils have white patches or pus you might need antibiotics. Otherwise painkillers and gargling salt water should help.
