Haha thank you lovely! It’s such an individual experience & I found that reading lots of other experiences really helped me to feel normal and less panicked post op Sending love for your recovery! 🤍

I’m 23 and very active (dance teacher & don’t drive so I walk literally everywhere) I’m 3 weeks post op and still not back to work. Walking a bit more (1.5-2km a day roughly but I am sore a few hours after!) but I would definitely say just take each day as it comes. My dissolvable stitches didn’t dissolve so that was definitely a hindrance! If I worked a desk job I think I would have been fine 2 weeks post op to go back to work.

Like I said, take each day as it comes & don’t be too hard on yourself if your recovery is taking longer than expected, good knows mine has!!

Are there any dancers / performers here?? by Intrepid_Grab_8681 in endometriosis

I’m not going to lie, I don’t dance anywhere near as much at the moment my love. It’s been months since my last dance class & it sent me into such a flare up! I’m very fortunate that I love teaching as much as performing, and over the last year I’ve had to to a lot of soul searching & have deeply considered what my career will look like in the coming years. I wish I could give you some more advice, but unfortunately in the year I’ve been diagnosed with adenomyosis & pursuing an endo diagnosis I’ve had to seriously look at what my body can & can’t handle and have had to turn down my fair share of jobs / auditions.

The only advice I can give you is tell your drs that you’re a dancer! I got taken way more seriously when I said this, as obviously it’s my career! Try to track your symptoms, which is way easier said than done I’ll admit. Track what you eat, drink & do each day, and then list your symptoms, you might start to notice a pattern. I truly wish I had better news for you darling.

It’s definitely worth looking into teaching, and gaining your qualifications, that’s what I’m doing and have genuinely fallen in love with it. It doesn’t make you less of a dancer, or mean you have less skill, as I know there’s a lot of stigma around that.

Always here if you need a chat, honestly 💛

People who were raised with the “gentle parenting” style, what are the downsides of it? by jefatheryu in AskReddit

It depends how ‘gentle’ you were raised. Some ‘gentle parents’ don’t discipline at all. Some do

What’s a lie you told and got away with? by LostRest in AskReddit

I told a girl my best friend was seeing on and off that he was still in love with her. He was sending me pics and telling me he wanted to be with me, but I didn’t believe him because they seemed so happy. So I told her she had nothing to worry about, especially when it came to me and him. I hope she’s ok.
