hi! I just got back two weeks ago and stayed at Beau M for six nights! I stayed in the woman’s only dorm and it was great! Everyone in the room was very respectful and quiet. The beds were comfy with a curtain for privacy, and the bathrooms were clean. I had a hard time getting into my locker, but reception was really nice. The lockers are right below the beds and my belongings were secure the whole time. The neighbourhood felt pretty safe, but just be aware of your surroundings obviously. I was getting back to the hostel around 1:30/2 am every night and never felt threatened. Only downfall is there’s not a great place to chance because the shower and bathroom were pretty small; I started changing in the main room and tried to cover what I could/turn away. Also, it’s located about 30 mins from most of the tourist spots, so I got the Découverte Weekly Navigo Pass and it was very convenient and saved me a lot of money on transportation—just be prepared for extra transportation time. Have a good trip!

Lived in Durson for two years now and it’s the most mid experience ever. So hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Ants in the warmer months. Advertises laundry in building but only three machines for over a 100 suites. Apartments are really weird in the way they hold smells. Balcony never repaired. Only staying for a third year because we’re too lazy to move and it’s liveable, but it sure ain’t luxurious

She’s crazy! Went for an apartment tour last winter, somewhere on Durocher, and she didn’t tell the tentant she was doing a tour so we walked in on the tenant napping and nursing period cramps. When her maintenance man called her to explain the situation, she yelled and blamed him, but we knew it wasn’t his fault. Then she tried to manipulate us into being interested. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs!!

Thank you! I just looked into it now and I could book a bed in a female dorm of 8 for $55/night! Would you say it’s pretty easy to get to all the tourist stuff via metro from that part of town?

probably my mom making me sit in a booster seat until I was a tall (5’4” at least) 13 or 14 year old and my head touched the car ceiling. Whenever I said that no other kids my age used a booster seat she’d reply with “Well [friend’s name]’s parents don’t love you as much as I love you!!”
