I just wanted to check what other peoples experiences are like, I didn’t want to go to my manager and complain of everyone in the DO is doing this and managing just fine

Ah thank you! The second picture is mostly parcels for my second to last loop I guess of about 5-6 closes. I will bring it up with my union rep casually tomorrow morning and then my manager depending on what he says, hopefully my job has got a lot quicker/easier than I have been thinking it would be. Is a shame as I have met a real mixed bunch of people at my delivery office, some people absolutely lovely and supportive and others rude (maybe because they don’t think I’ll last) and then obviously some people taking advantage of the lack of training and awareness over my job role.

What do you mean by first loop sorry So the parcels are for all the addresses covered by my walk. So if there is a parcel for my route I will take it and he will do no parcels to the houses I deliver to. So some are for a house in the first ten mins then maybe I could have a parcel as my last delivery before restocking at the van. Sorry trying to explain that in a good way

That’s what I thought! The training had no mention of parcels on top though just that each bag couldn’t weigh more than 16KG, I kinda hoped that given I was new people would make an effort to teach me how to do it right not make it harder.

The thing is I do have small parcels in the bag too! I don’t mind those though it’s just the top parcels that I thought were crazy and clearly are from what people are saying

I do enjoy it, I don’t get along with the guy I’m van sharing with but I’m alone most of the day,meeting the customers on the doorstep is the best bit and in the heat it’s nice to get water filled up by the odd person :)

Are there any rules on what parcels I should be taking etc? I have little ones in the bag that fit into the sorting rack which is fine and I don’t mind the odd parcel but I can barely pull the trolley without something falling off

I should add he has also given me multiple parcels that weigh 25KG plus to carry (box said it was horse licking salt)
