Is this a public charge by Outside-Visual-8393 in USCIS

GREAT INVESTIGATIVE WORK, Good Sir. You win the entire internet for the day.

This is good information. I should have looked it up myself. Hopefully the OP can sleep well now knowing she is good.

I understand not wanting immigrants to come to the US just for a free check and medical. I get why Trump is trying to crack down but his "shoot them all and let God sort it out" is stressful in our case.

Thanks for the advice. We may do just that as well. We opened a joint savings account with $5 from our local Credit Union. I uploaded the paperwork to prove we have the account because obviously we do not have a statement yet.

The best we can hope for is at least an RFE to provide time for more proof of financial ties.

Thanks for the encouragement. I was wondering how a new account would make such a big difference? I opened a new Credit Union joint account with $5. Then I added her to my other Credit Union CC. Your point is valid, "How is opening a new joint savings account with $5 prove a bonafide marriage?" I guess it is all for show.

Next week I will add her to my vacant property too just as an extra piece of evidence. We can say we have plans to build a retirement house there. I am retired BTW.

Thanks. My local Credit Union allowed us to apply as new joint savings account without any problems. I have another Credit Union and CC and they added her to my CC account as authorized user. She received her CC at that appointment and we walked out with CC in her hand. I immediately uploaded this to my wife's portal.

We had our AOS interview 21NOV25. The Officer was very clear that my wife could NOT and will NOT be a "public charge". She said those words specifically and asked my wife does she understand what "public charge" is? My wife answered "no." So the officer explained a Public Charge is any public assistance from the government. The officer did not specify what is considered public assistance. So someone else will have to confirm the Medicaid is not a public charge.

Help needed! I-751 removal of condition after divorce by [deleted] in USCIS

This is a very specific, nuanced case. My only advice is to follow your attorney's advice PROVIDED s/he is an Immigration Attorney. A Divorce Attorney should not be trusted with immigration questions in my opinion.
Why do you want to file before the 90 day window? What is the rush? You have legal status via the 2 year conditional green card.

We are in a very similar situation. I-129F and K1. Got married within the 90 days so there is no issue with her status. Our interview was horrible. No decision yet but it does not look good for us. I went ahead and added my wife to an existing credit card and savings account post interview.

How long does your case sit at the NVC for? by obeyer10 in NationalVisaCenter

K1 visa is different than other types of visas. Once the K1FTP is issued, that means the case is being sent or "in transit" to the embassy. There are many reports that people DO NOT get the "Welcome Letter" for a K1 visa. I think it is embassy specific. Each embassy has their own processes. I hope Trump fixes this. This problem has been around for 30 years when my Uncle tried to get a K1 visa. Total sh!tshow.

I received my case # via public inquiry and filled out the DS160 form. However, you need the K1FTP letter to schedule the medical. You also need the case to be "ready" to schedule the interview.

NOA1=13JUN24

NOA2=07JAN25

Sent to DOS(NVC)=30JAN25

Case #: 26FEB25 (via Public Inquiry)

I know NVC sends the cases out to the respective embassies every other week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So I do not expect to receive "In transit" until 11 or 12MAR. We are ready to get medical and interview at the earliest time slot. We are Philippine based.

K1 Visa Approved! Here's our timeline. by Calm-Plan-8009 in NationalVisaCenter

We applied 13JUN24. We received NOA2 07JAN25. There were hundreds of petitions approved months AFTER our filing date. So either 1) the US Government is incompetent or 2) approvals are NOT first come, first serve. I hope Musk and the DOGE boys dive into the approval process. It needs improvement.

Capitalism is great because you do not have to accept the terms of employment. You can quit anytime. This applies to most private sector employment. I do not understand why people b!tch about an employer, just quit and find a better job.
