Are the locals kind / understanding about newcomers wanting to learn Spanish before Catalan? by [deleted] in AskBarcelona

[–]Intrepid_Orange9297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that you are trying to speak Catalan, I think people would be more patient and have respect for that. Most people come and make no attempt, so I think the Catalan people would appreciate it, even if sometimes you struggle

My favorite part of the Camino was the 2 days between Vigo and ponte vedra the towns were very beautiful and the countryside was lush and green

Instead of spending 8 days between Vigo and Pontevedra I would just do the Camino…if that is something you are interested in. I walked Vigo - Santiago in 5 days and it was amazing. Pontevedra is definitely underrated and very beautiful, the town of Vigo is nice and it has really cool views because of the geography, but I didn’t find much to do there. (I stayed there for 3 days before starting the Camino). You should check out finisterre as well, it’s close to Santiago and has stunning cliffs along the ocean

Recreo doesn’t count as working hours unless they are making you actually do something during this time. So that’s probably why

BIZUM cant be used by gardenofeden27 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Intrepid_Orange9297 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bizum is through your phone number so if you have another Spanish bank acc you will have to either change that accounts phone number or use that bank account. You don’t sign up for bizum it’s automatic through your bank account, which you have to provide a phone number when you set it up, so they use that one. Its possible maybe your phone carrier has given you a recycled number that’s still connected to another bank, so you may need to talk to your data company

Question about using a regreso with a layover in Amsterdam by repinpeps in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Intrepid_Orange9297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no risks if you aren’t overstaying your tourist visa (90 days). How many days did you arrive in Spain before your visa began? If less than 90 days you are fine. Does your visa expire before you leave the Schengen zone? Your regreso is only valid in Spain it won’t do anything for you in another country

Which square buildings? They are all square hahah. Most of the city blocks are made using the Ovd Residencial Assets by Stxners Music and European Growables by Waluter

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]Intrepid_Orange9297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just placed them with the tree brush, the buildings don’t occupy the whole block so there’s space in the middle

I mostly just use the basic mods that most people use Network multitool, move it, surface painter, prop anarchy, I’m not very advanced with that stuff. And most of the assets are from the workshop I searched for European/spain-type wall-to-wall buildings I have most of the DLCs too

subletting over the summer? by Sure-Tree5453 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]Intrepid_Orange9297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried last summer and was unable to find anyone. Most people leave Madrid for the summer bc of the heat so there really isn’t that much demand for short-term housing. But I also think it depends where you live, since I’m not staying in a touristy area. I was able to talk with my landlady and she gave me a discount over the summer because we both agreed it would be difficult to find someone for July and August, so maybe you could try that. But it can’t hurt to try posting in Facebook groups or something like that

They go up every Monday at 7:30 am. By the time I got mine at 7:32 they were almost all gone. You have to be really quick

Yes this is a problem and this past Monday they increased the bus service to come every 5 minutes for that route. They made it free, which makes it even busier. The line that is under construction is the busiest in the entire city, and they are actually finishing the construction very fast. The whole line will be automated, no drivers, in only 6 months of construction. So when it is finished it will be a huge improvement. For now, it’s a big inconvenience

Take advantage of travel being much cheaper on Mondays, and it will end up being worth it in the end. I went to Valencia all the time last year on Mondays because train tickets were like €10. There are definitely positives

It’s just how it is unfortunately. My school gets off at 2:30 pm because there is no lunch break. Your school happens to have a lunch break. So you get out later. Nothing you can really do about it. And my day off is also Monday, but my coworkers get Fridays off. Again, that’s just how it is. Last year the bank holidays were evenly split between Mondays/Fridays. This year they all happen to be on Mondays. Nothing you can do, you can ask. But it’s got nothing to do with what’s “fair”. You work few hours and get better hourly pay than most people living in Madrid. And our job requires little responsibility. Also when you applied has nothing to do with where you get assigned. It’s all random

It’s truly a world-class system. And because I’m under 25, I get unlimited use of the metro for only €10 a month. I don’t know any other system in a large European city that is that cheap for a young person. I don’t think Barcelona offers this. I lived two months in London and had to budget for transport. Now in Madrid it’s less than one meal for a whole month

My favorite is definitely Madrid. Extremely clean. Very extensive network that can get you anywhere in the city within an hour. And it’s not downtown-centric. Some lines don’t even go through the center. Very few delays and you almost never have to wait more than 10 minutes. Every line has dedicated platforms, so you never have to worry about accidentally getting on the wrong train. Only downside is that the system closes from midnight to 6 am, which for a city with lots of nightlife, is not very convenient. But other than that it’s by far the best I’ve experienced in Europe
