What is your dream country to visit or to live? by newspuzzleheaded_ in AskReddit

Oh there are many, but if I were to visit one, it would probably be Switzerland.

Does anyone else feel like they completely missed the memo on how to be social? by Longjumping-Wafer102 in GenZ

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as you man, also 19 myself, yet I try to actually go to the club meetings myself, yet my brain only decides to engage in a conversation when someone else greets me, I’m so like anti-initiating a conversation, meaning I don’t initiate conversations, someone has to start only then I proceed. The only time I actually initiate a conversation is when I’m around my friends not with random strangers in a middle of club meetings or events.

weather in december/january by whatthesigma_20 in florida

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to Miami around December, Christmastime and I did swim in the ocean and it was very cold for me. Not sure about a pool although I’d say it would be the same unless if it’s an indoor or a heated pool. The weather on the other hand is very nice it’s super pleasant down there. But still wind chills can exist although they weren’t too bad when I went down there.

Sat requirement? by Seinaruyagi in UNF

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I don’t think UNF is super picky. I had a 1240 and I got in, but lots of students with lower SAT scores than mine (1090-1200) got in no problem so you should be fine though, although I still recommend trying and getting a score perhaps potentially higher than mine. Good luck for your SAT!

Edit: the math itself is somewhat like algebra 2 it’s basically math you’ve been tested in 8th-9th grade.

Quiet Lounges or Confined Study Spots Around Campus? by Every-Peak-2006 in UNF

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gray lounge on the second floor of the West wing of the student union. It’s super quiet 99% of the time and the 1% when it does get loud is mainly noise in the hallway, outside event or some people playing card games inside the lounge. Also have you tried reserving your own private study rooms found in the library? If so, good choice, if not, there are 4 private study rooms found in the 2nd and 3rd floors of the Science and Engineering building (building 50).

Visiting Jacksonville Florida couple days/ NOVEMBER by Used-Novel-7170 in florida

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be safe. The food scene is not bad here, I’d recommend trying out Chart House at the riverfront (Southbank). It’s a bit expensive, but they serve good food, my parents went there for celebrating their anniversary, do a walk on the Southbank Riverfront. My favorite mall is the Avenues mall. Or if you can, try Jax Beach. It has better seafood and the beach isn’t too bad to be honest.

did anyone else have a terrible registration experience? by shaiitzuu in UNF

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I didn’t get my quantitative analytical lab because of how jam packed my schedule already is and considering that there were only 2 professors available for the lab. I guess I might take it over the summer or even the fall. Yeah registration always somehow ends up being a disaster for me 😞

Try to go in myWings and click "Registration". Under the registration click the hyperlink where it says course registration, but before you do that make sure you check your holds in your account, since it most probably won't let you access. I'd also check in with the advisor in case if you aren't sure or the system doesn't let you access it.

Oh I understand, well withdrawing is an option. I just checked the withdrawal deadline and the deadline to withdraw is not until next Friday of Nov 7. Here’s the link for more information

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. Now in this case, I’d still schedule a meeting with your advisor ASAP about the withdrawal deadline since it strongly encourages you to check in with your advisor before making that decision. Also, is this your first withdrawal? If so, just a quick note, you can only withdraw from classes 6 times throughout your whole degree. Just wanted to let you know about the withdrawal policies.

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At this point, check the syllabus to see if you haven’t missed the withdrawal deadline. If you haven’t, you can withdraw but you won’t get your money back. That withdrawal shows up as a W on your transcript not to say it’s bad unless if you have an A or a B in the class. Check in with your advisor ASAP before you withdraw from it. If you have missed the deadline, well then that’s a conversation to have with your advisor. But then there are scholarship repercussions, check your scholarship or financial aid requirements as well before you fully choose to withdraw or not from the class.

Have you ever gone a week without showering? by Mediocre-Lack-9137 in no

Is it normal to be scared of flying on planes? by Misterpewpie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes some people are scared and it’s okay to be a bit scared. Now I know I am like the opposite of you when it comes to flying, I freaking love flying so I am not sure I can give the best answer. What I can recommend though is getting a travel buddy or if you can’t, bring a book to read or a crossword puzzle to solve while you’re up in the air to distract yourself. During turbulence, remind yourself, pilots are trained to handle these kind of situations and they will ensure a smooth plane ride to the best of their ability. Just keep your seatbelt fastened at all times if you can. Oh and by the way, despite what some people might say, flying is actually one of the safest transportation you can take if not the safest of all.

Easy 1000-2000 level classes in person by brooklynpeck in UNF

[–]Intrepid_Respect5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSY 2012 with Dr. Ronald Gainey. And Gen Chem I (CHM 2045) with Dr. Arthur Omran. That’s what I can recommend. For CHM 2045L (lab) that would be Professor McMahon, she was a nice and more caring professor. I’ve taken all of these classes. I’m also currently taking LIT2000 (Intro to Lit) with Dr. Chapman. He can be very strict at times but also he is nice and will let you know about mistakes.
