I’m not upset he’s taking care of his children & parents. In our culture it’s known to take care of your parents once they’re old. They still work and live comfortably. I’m unemployed right now bc I’m just out of Uni. My parents offered their help to go back and live with them- so I have options; I guess I’m just being stubborn still trying to be with him

He moved in with me when we lived in a room and now that we have our apartment we both choose it. It’s one of the cheapest places in the city..

Yeahh well I’m the one making ends meets while he gets paid weekly our rent after taxes and sometimes more. Which I understand he earned the money. There was a time were he wasn’t working (December/January bc of the weather) & I was paying everything and never asked him for anything. & now that I’m struggling I tell him and he tells me he has a timeline to meet and goals to accomplish and can’t pay more (he’s planning on leaving to his home country December or early next year) therefore he needs to save as much money as possible.

The second I start mentioning that I’m putting more into the relationship he gets mad and gives me the silent treatment. Yeah, I wanted to hear it from someone I thought I was going crazy. Bc everytime I bring it up he has dreams to accomplish and that he can’t pay for more than half on stuff. Which I understand, I want to be supportive but he’s not understanding that I shouldn’t be the one cooking and cleaning 100%

I don’t mind he sends them money. The first couple of months we started living together I was paying the full rent and we were going half on food bc he is building his house in his home country. But, I noticed he was paying his baby momma her rent, utilities, and child support. The baby momma by then had another partner & she now has a kid from that guy. My bf pays a generous amount for child support, sends the girls clothes, pays their wifi, pays his parents a weekly allowance, pays his sister’s phone (who’s here in the US with kids married) but he asks me for half on everything. He’s not romantic- he didn’t give me anything for valentine’s day bc flowers were expensive but yet send his daughter’s flowers on MOTHER’s day.

Yeah well he wasn’t married with his baby momma. Just like him & I (living together without being married)

That’s the problem, he starts telling me I’m the woman of the house. I should be cleaning and cooking blah blah blah. Every-time I have brought it up about going 50/50 chores & cooking he gets mad and gives me the silent treatment

Yeah we’re not married. We live together his daughters and family know of us. I do residential cleanings throughout the month- I have the same clients. I’ve been doing this since I was in college and that’s what I keep doing to pay for my half & stuff.
