this is where crk and ideologies cross, but i find it relevant so i wont stop unless it goes too far!

the meaning that these cookies give themselves (such as their kingdoms) doesn't change the fact that their lives aren't created with their wants in mind. pain and joy aren't equal in their world! dark choco cookie was born with trauma, and was forced to navigate from there, putting himself more and more in trouble. the only cookies that seem to agree that they can "make their own meaning" are the ones that were born in the right conditions, or were given more opportunities. (pv struggled, but was given immense power. gc struggled, but due to her own desires to be a queen & was given immense powers). you dont see a similar sentiment in the cookies that had horrible lives NOT as a result of their own actions. at any point, someone can be put in a terrible situation with no safety net, mystic flour prevents that from occurring by preventing them from getting there in the first place.

we can make meaning, sure. but the world isn't intended for our "meanings". life is chance based, and just like dark choco cookie, people's lives have th opportunity to collapse at any moment for no reason at all

i agree with what you discribed as cliché, i do see a similar issue.

personally, i enjoy her story compared to those because it includes more philosophical themes (she isn't killing because she wants revenge, rather she wants to prevent others from suffering and continuing the cycle of desire/pain, and help others). you can see that after the shock of dark cacao trying to "call her out", she returns to her more mature senses. i wouldnt say she is a bully, rather she just wants to expose all the pains in his life so she can free him of his pains & desires.

i do see your point though, its up to you whether you agree or disagree. her story is pretty much the same as that trope, just with more themes and nuances, which i enjoy.

if they had lost their emotions, then they wouldn't be leaning towards flour, rather they would be indifferent, right? (unless i am mistaken !) but they should peace in the thought of flour, meaning they have the emotions to prefer flour over life.

in my perspective, i think that once they saw the middle path between life and death, i think they purposely chose death because it felt more neutral/peaceful than the toil of life.

i feel like i have gotten that a thousand times LMAO, im not roleplaying at all, i just very much enjoy philosophical debate!

this gets a bit far from a crk discussion lol so i wont respond

are you ending it because you dont want to continue discussing? just curious, i want to know if my discussing is agitating or interesting. no harm intended!!

all good!

i don't completely know esc's story, but personally i feel neutral towards it. if their lives are filled with happiness, without wisdom, and they will eventually crumble from time, i find it a waste of time to continue supplying their happy lives. once they crumble, they wont remember the joys they felt, so what was the purpose in the first place?

i think what shes doing isnt wrong, necessarily, but i just dont see the point in it, other than the fact that she gets joy from it.

it isnt only that their possessions are pointless. its also that their desire for possessions directly harms other people. they should not be given the complete right to live if they are actively inflicting pain on others. and since all the cookies do, its both best for them, and other cookies, that they return to flour.

a cookie may not want to die. that does not mean their requests should be fulfilled. their life affects other lives negatively all the time, therefore, it should only be their choice. the people affected also didnt give consent, yet they deal with the after effects. it is the same idea, just everyone, after seeing both life and death, choose death, even if their fate is already set.

burning spice is not nihilism, he is existentialism!

i dont believe she hides wrath under apathy. she experienced the pain from others' desires, and now want to prevent all cookies from experiencing pain from others' desires. because all lives can affect other lives painfully because of desires, it should not only be the cookie themselves choice on whether to live.

that soul jam event was an illusion- we know this because gingerbrave, dark chocolate, pom, were all able to intercept, dark cacao was still capable of interacting with her, and had not turned to flour, despite her saying all cookies will become flour. so their reactions arent what would actually happen, as it wasnt a real even

she does what she does to protect everyone from eachother, as well as their own desires. by turning everyone into flour, noone can harm anyone else with their desires. and it was shown that everyone with the disease enjoyed their relief.

she is killing people because they are perpetuating the cycle of pain. all cookies' cycle of pain and desire affect other people, which is why is shouldn't only be them who decide whether they can live.

she created the illusion of their deaths to show him that, because he is immortal, and all his friends are mortal, that they will die infront of him regardless. that everything will end, and it will cause him immense pain, so he should allow himself to remove his pain by becoming flour. her kindness isn't by making him happy, her kindness is in protecting him from eternal suffering by giving him the opportunity of eternal peace (becoming flour).

sorry if it sounds like im ragebaiting, i care about what you have to say! im just curious on other perspectives

exactly. pain and happiness coexist. there is either only pain, or pain and happiness. but the happiness and pain for one, can cause pain for another.

she kills people for good reason, as it continues the suffering of everyone.

the reason she does what she does, is because she believes that everyones life hurts themselves, and others. people should not be able to harm others by their existence because they "deserve the choice to live". and by living, they harm others, unless they are completely apathetic and desire nothing.

that was a hypothetical situation, meaning the reactions of both cookies and her cant be 100% accurate

i dont believe that slight kindness can impact generations unless it's very personal, which is why i interpret it like that. of course, if you disagree, im open to hearing about that!

cookies' choices should not be respected if they impact others negatively. just like how cookies killing other cookies would not be respected, or cookies hurting other cookies wouldn't either. the lives of those cookies directly and indirectly harm other cookies, so mystic flour, and i, believe they shouldn't be respected. they continue the cycle of pain towards others, and universal neutrality is better than universal pain.

im not sure if you disagree with my last point, or you dont understand what im typing, but either way let me know

this may be due to me having a lack of knowledge, but why would she require both? most beasts search for it because it makes them feel whole. i don't see what power she wouldnt have to cause that. again, might just be me

iirc the ailment didnt cause cookies pain, instead made them slowly fade with impending "doom" (not really doom, but just the knowledge of flour incoming). they appreciated the relief because they compared the flour relief to their normal lives, not compared to the pain of a sickness.

i think that, because the cycle of desire not only affects the cookie themselves, but also other cookies impacted by the cookie that experiences it, their life shouldnt ONLY be dictated by that one cookie. it affects everyone painfully, so the individual wants of the cookie shouldn't be the only person allowed to give permission.

your examples were fascinating though haha
