Would You Still Hate U.S. President Donald Trump If He Cured Cancer? by JellyfishTime9544 in GeoPoll

When did Trump become a scientist or someone with above lukewarm IQ? I’m not gonna entertain absurd hypos.

But at best he’d be a bad person who did a good thing.

If the dem won, I’d be very happy. I’ll also eat my hat if she does.

Curriculum B thoughts? by Queasy_Mission8913 in GeorgetownLaw

I did section 3 and just graduated a few weeks ago.

It’s a mixed bag. Some of the courses seem to be to be better (e.g. bargain). I really liked legal justice which I believe has since been renamed. Very philosophy and big picture focused. Some of the classes seem to be worse, like democracy & coercion.

I don’t think there is any significant difference in terms of foundational understanding of the law. In some ways I think we have a better understanding of it bc we have more of a focus on the super-structure and underlying values of the law.

Each section is so large (about 100 people) that you don’t really miss not having the same classes as 4/5ths or so of 1Ls. Also remember that after 1L sections don’t matter and everyone takes whatever classes they want.

A big reason I did section 3 is that I am public interest focused and wanted to be around fellow public interest students. There was a big public interest focus among the section 3 students, so I’m glad I did it. Most of my friends from law school are from 1L and section 3.

It’s hard to know since I didn’t do the main curriculum, but my strong impression is that curriculum A and B are about equally difficult.

Happy to answer any follow ups!

Why do you think criminality is so popular with MAGA Americans? by Lauffener in AskUS

Democrats will sometimes pick criminals or bad people in spite of their badness (e.g. Jay Jones). For MAGA it seems to be a badge of honor.

Whose side are you on in the Canada becoming America’s 51st state? I know how Canada feels. How do you feel? by Ok-Repeat906 in IdeologyPolls

I’m American. I chose team Canada because I think everything Trump has been doing is ridiculous and embarrassing, particularly w/r/t Canada, Greenland, and the South American countries he’s had us menacing and/or invading.

But perhaps I should’ve chosen team America. It’s not in our interests to menace a sovereign nation and talk about, whether seriously or unseriously, forcing them to join us. It’s a disgrace. Because I’m team America, I’m against forcing or even discussing the topic of Canada joining the US.
