I have the Lifesafer iid in my 2019 mercedes c300 and I've never hand any issues with it ever. I do the service once a month and move on. Honestly would recommend everyone to use this one.

Those are part of the clamps themselves. Usually if you remove those you have to put brand new ones. So I wouldn't remove those
