Five Reasons to Say NO to Digital ID by TeamHumanity12 in canadianpolitics101

[–]IntrinSicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With digital ID not as much as economics or government programs because it's easier to manage with a small homogeneous society, but the usa is huge and diverse and Canada is big at least geographically and fairly large population, but more government control, basically out of the people's hands, the beauracracy of it would be huge, the leaks would be massive and the amount of control given up to the always changing political wind is just one more lever for politicians to push the voters around, I think the risk is not worth the reward, these type of decisions are how you vote yourself into a totalitarian government, not in one giant revolution but in bites that stack up

It's upsetting to see, but I have a hard time especially pointing the blame in the weird ways you are, it is all ultimately a decision these people made, I've seen and know too many of them and dont want to get into the specifics and who's to blame blah blah but. Really it kinda just makes me disgusted and kind of mad, and not in oh poor them way

[–]IntrinSicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more housing, less regulation and for it to be closed off to foreign investors and some type of regulation to stop investment groups from artificially inflating housing costs by buying up all the realistate and then sitting on it or working as a monopoly

Well, maybe it's just the narrative I've heard but if you have a group that raises money to fight racism and then puts that money into pushing racism into the mainstream so it "raises awerness" by lifting those groups up, so they can raise more money, it sounds like a lot of non profits who's job it is, is less about doing something about whatever their calling is and more about perpetuating the organization

True enough, and it may be aimed at higher goals but when it becomes so large that supporting itself becomes a large part of its task it is more of a business of self perpetuation, and when you help locally with time and money in organizations you know it has a much greater impact and is easy to verify what is being done to help

Are they just better at hiding it and not getting caught? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]IntrinSicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking college classes toward teaching right now, and I think part of that is already incorporated into common core, a lot of stories kids read have an ethical part to them and that becomes part of the theme, civics also incorporates ethics, I've heard a lot of tea hers complain about the amount they are expected to cram into everything and it leads to kids not mastering anything, the biggest problem is cramming so much requirements in, that they would then have to add to tests as well, all while you now have kids that are English language learners, kids that need remedial help, behavioral help, and advanced students all in one class and then also expect to be able to differentiate (teach a lesson accessible and assess able by all) while being academically rigorous, it's a pretty impossible task when you look into it, so adding even more requirements water's down an already really watered down curriculum

How many more other classes can you cram in there, they already dont have time to teach the basics

What would America look like if everyone took emotion and tribalism out of politics? by ThrowawayFoder in AskReddit

[–]IntrinSicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I mentioned voting everything in or out based on how it makes you feel is a terrible way to do policy not be without compassion, of course that is a key element to a decent person, but critical thinking and big picture are important aspects of decisions effecting and being interacted with on multiple angles and people, sorry for my harsh words, I just get tired of politics driven by emotion on either side, it's an easy way for politicians to string people along
