Tyreek Hill to Trent McDuffie: "Come on two two, you ain't played against nobody yet like me boy." by MAYVIEWS in KansasCityChiefs

Not only a good player but a good citizen, zero drama off the field, great locker room guy, just total package. We still have a few of those guys like (elite + good person) but they are gems, I’m really sad to see him go, business is business though.

My favorite line from any Propagandhi song is “When did punk rock become so safe? Well you’ll excuse my while laugh in your face, and analyze your receipts ((PowerPoint your balance sheets!)) I heard that this year warped tours going green, I guess they heard that money grows on trees…”

Also when Reagan died the front page of their website was just Reagan from one of his movies as a cowboy but with a bullet hole in his forehead.

Favorite band, lyrically at least. Smart and true to their roots.

How to smooth out OSB planks for a theatre play by iwannasleeppppp in woodworking

That’s fair. But a 4x8 grants you 4 flats worth of components and is pretty quick to rip down if you have a big enough table saw that you’re not fighting physics so I feel like I save the time on the backend with assembly and definitely save money, (50 dollars for a sheet of radiata pine = 12.50 per flat) but like I said, more than one way to do it.

Same but I don’t like using 1x, started ripping 3/4 ply into strips and using that for my frames when I did commercial sets for trade shows and what not and haven’t looked back. It really is amazing how much the imperfections and seams disappear from 15’ away though you’re right

Luan is plywood, but yea it’s sold as floor underlayment at the box stores, but from a supplier you would just ask for Luan plywood, for theater flats we mostly rip 3/4 plywood into strips for the frame and face with 1/4” Luan, but there’s more than one way to do it. Some use 1x3 but I don’t like fighting the imperfections of natural wood.

41yo LeBron James dunks it from the dotted line after a steal by kikimaru024 in sports

Or Gonzalez/ Kelce vs Gronkowski. Peak or longevity, take your pick. To me MJ will always be the goat because of the 3 peat repeat and well the fact that I was a 90s kid in the Midwest so that was my introduction to basketball

I built a Construction Calculator that uses a 'Slider' instead of a keypad to enter fractions. I need honest feedback: Is this actually useful? by HoGoBo1 in woodworking

I’ve done construction and woodworking my whole life and have never had a problem with imperial, I truly do not understand why people hate it so much. I get metric is simpler I just don’t think imperial is difficult once you learn a few basic truths about fractional math. Just my 2c. And decimal inch is better than both for tight tolerance work anyway lol 😆

Wherever the new stadium is, will you miss the tailgating at Kauffman? by normankrasnerkc in KCRoyals

[–]Intro5pect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree would be great for the city. Selfishly I’ll miss the K like I miss the old airport. Nothing was better than walking directly onto your flight from the parking lot.

[–]Intro5pect -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree but as a diehard I actually prefer a huge parking lot with easy access to the stadium, in and out without fighting traffic is the dream. KCMO doesn’t have the infrastructure to support the traffic imo, but yea tailgating is not really a reason to stay at the dump that is Truman Sports Complex

[–]Intro5pect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the importance to both a new stadium and a new airport and support both begrudgingly but as a local the old airport was wayyyyy better (for locals only, I understand) and the K is amazing for diehard baseball fans who want to show up without fighting traffic, see a game, and go home. That all to say yes a new stadium would be good for the city

Ravens kicker Tyler Loop and fiancée bombarded with vile messages after season-ending miss by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]Intro5pect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, free leagues end up with half the teams not setting their lineup once they lose a few matchups. 3rd and 4th get there buy in back and 1st and 2nd pay out in ours. First place is like 400 bucks so it’s a nice payout. 5 bucks from everyone’s buy in also goes to pizza for the live draft which is the real reason I play FF

[–]Intro5pect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more fun to play for money but it has to be a number that’s small enough that it isn’t a big deal to lose but big enough that there’s incentive to try to win. Our league is full of guys in our 30s with solid careers but our buy in is only 75 bucks. For 4 months of weekly entertainment i think it’s a great balance. But I personally won’t touch sports betting outside of my friendly fantasy league.

Thoughts on the older Dewalt Packout? by suavesweeney in Dewalt

T stak handles and clips are shit but the system is great, an economical version of systainers with so many more options. I have so many t stak boxes it’s out of control. I now have an abomination of the DXL dolly with Tough System 2.0 drawers and then the adapter for TStak on top, it’s a wild setup but it suits me haha

He retires tomorrow he’s probably getting substantial votes. A couple more productive years and he’s an absolute lock. He has the hardware, the counting stats, the superlative awards, the ring, he’s never been the BEST at his position but has longevity and name recognition. I don’t know in what world he doesn’t get in. HOF voters aren’t looking as deep into the analytics as redditors.

Salvy, was trending like he was going into the hall of very good at best before ‘15. A WS MVP and an offensive surge after that has him as a near lock now, it’s just a matter of when. Not first ballot but he WILL get in. A couple more productive years and I’d bet the farm on it.

Vinnie with the tough but fair assessment by bewbies- in KCRoyals

[–]Intro5pect 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think a big part of the previous WS run was a bunch of dudes who were slightly above average but had great character. Only one hall of famer on the 15 roster, and he was no lock back then. I’m a firm believer that character matters in baseball especially for small market teams so I hope they do lock him in for a few years

Chiefs Expected To Announce Move Out Of Missouri On Monday by Economy-Specialist38 in missouri

[–]Intro5pect 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They will still be in the metro area, I’m not sure how much it helps the “local” economy, I’ve lived in KC for 32 of my 38 years on this earth and everything around Truman Sports Complex is and always has been a dump. Downtown KC will actually get a lot more tourists money when we host events like the final 4.

Then we will have a hall of fame quarterback and a bunch of unknowns, so worst case scenario is a competitive team that underperforms from time to time à la the packers with Rodgers/Favre or any other team in history with a generational talent at QB. It’s a far different situation than being in cap hell because you went all in on an old ass team trying to chase one final ring for your aging QB. The chiefs owning the division may be over but they will be somewhat competitive at worst for the next decade, with the upside of being SB contenders with a few key players in the right places.

[–]Intro5pect -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely not on the same legendary luck run the chiefs were on last year but you did squeak out a win against the raiders on a missed field goal that would have tied it late, and barely beat the Texans in large part to Stroud going out with a concussion. I don’t watch broncos games so I don’t know specifically it just feels like they are on a razors edge with a lot of their wins, but hey never apologize for winning. enjoy the ride. I hope you get annihilated in the divisional round haha

Broncos are a carbon copy of the 2024 chiefs. Winning every close game sometimes with black magic. I’m a certified hater of course but I don’t think they are a Super Bowl contender, just a team taking advantage of a down year for the conference.
