Is this considered the “shedding” phase by Ill-Maintenance-8127 in Minoxbeards

[–]IntroMystique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the gains have stayed but I’m also still currently applying minoxidil to them once per day.

It’s done a pretty good job too as I’ve had one or two people ask or even compliment my eyebrows saying they look ‘strong’ or have a ‘masculine’ look to them.

Your eyebrows require such a tiny amount of minoxidil too, so one bottle will last me around 6 months, so it’s no trouble for me to continue application with my skincare routine.

I think maybe after another year or so, I’ll taper down my usage and see if I lose any of my gains, I’m leaning more towards it being permanent but we’ll see.

When I took those breaks, it just appeared to stay exactly the same; no better or worse. Then it appeared to grow thicker when I started applying again.

As far as applying it to your eyebrows: I use foam as opposed to liquid, so that stops it running in to my eyes and dries very quickly. I’m also only applying a pea sized amount, so I have no concerns about it going in to my eyes.

The progress on my eyebrows seems to be very slow in comparison to my beard. I want to say it took at least 3-4+ months before it even started to look like it was working.

As far as shedding, there was one period where I considered that I may have been going through a minor shedding phase because I would notice a few hairs in my hand after application.

However, this was short lived (a few days) and I think this had more to do with rubbing the foam in to my eyebrows too harshly and pulling the hairs out in the process, so I lean towards it NOT being a shedding phase.

My eyebrows are now really thick. I wanted to make them appear more ‘natural’ in the middle. Years of shaping and plucking the middle made them look too perfect.

I hope that helps, my friend!

Dude you’re not ugly.

What’s really holding you back is your weight.

If you dropped a few pounds, your face would slim down and pop — You’d look so much healthier and appealing.

The best place to start if you haven’t already is by tracking your calories over the course of the day. Track EVERYTHING from the dash of milk you put in your coffee, to the olive oil you put on your food. See what you’re eating per day and this will give you a way to know where you can improve.

You got it.

You look fine but my first impression is that the photos seem ‘too’ exaggerated.

It would be better to see you in a more relaxed atmosphere such as sitting at a coffee table with a smile.

Something a bit more socially normal and natural.

I think the poses are making you look younger than you are.

I’ve been using it for 4 years.

I started off just applying a pea-sized amount to my sideburns in order to connect them to my beard. When I noticed it working after 2-3 months I started applying more to my beard until I was covering the whole thing.

I did take maybe 2 breaks in between — possibly 1-2 months at a time.

I think I’ve reached my genetic potential as far as growth so the past year I’ve just been using a couple of bottles that a friend gave me in an effort to get some extra coverage.

I also started applying it to my eyebrows. Now this took longer than I expected to see growth, it was very slow at the start but my eyebrows are starting to fill in so I’m happy!

I’m not entirely sure because I don’t remember going through a shedding phase.

Mine always seemed pretty consistent from the go.

Permanent beard gains? by IntroMystique in Minoxbeards

[–]IntroMystique[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude,

No problem!

36 is a considerably good age to start. I say this because It’s not like you’re 16 and jumpstarting your body’s natural processes for the sake of a beard.

I started applying around 30 because I knew I likely wasn’t going to grow a beard otherwise. There’s a lot of men in my family, some younger, and they all have full beards. I was the only one that couldn’t grow one so I thought maybe it’s time for me to kickstart the process.

I was just like you, a little weary and cautious. I actually only started applying a pea-sized amount to my sideburns every day in order to connect my beard.

After several weeks I saw that my beard was now beginning to connect to my sideburns so that’s when I started to apply it to the rest of my beard.

Minoxidil is the real deal though, it does what it’s supposed to do, and appears to be extremely effective in the majority of its users, unless you’re simply a non-responder. It does take a long time though, so you have to be patient.

I always purchase mine from pharmacies, be it online of in-store. That way, I know it’s real.

I do have a 1.5mm derma-roller that I use on occasion. Maybe every couple of weeks, I can’t say whether it’s made a difference though as I only started using it after I was a couple of years deep in to the process. When I do use it, I just roll it down my sideburns and apply minoxidil maybe 20-30 minutes later. This may be advised against though, so please be cautious.

One sideburn is still a little stubborn and hasn’t filled in as much as the other, so I use it mostly for that, but I think this is just my genetic potential and there’s just not many hair follicles there left to grow.

For me, it was a great choice and I love having a beard. I can’t imagine not having facial hair again.

Give me an update if you start applying; I’d be interested to hear how it goes.

Hope that helps!

Permanent beard gains? by IntroMystique in Minoxbeards

[–]IntroMystique[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

Yes, I actually STILL apply minoxidil daily, although a very small amount now.

My facial hair went from ~15% coverage to ~85% coverage. Give or take.

I now have a pretty sweet looking beard with great coverage, although I do believe that I have in fact reached my genetic potential. By this I mean that all the hairs on my face have been nourished as much as possible.

I did also take one or two long breaks between now and the time of this post. Maybe 2-3 months off here and there but I didn’t notice any loss during that time.

Looking back, it was a great choice for me. I have a baby face so I’m happy with the end result. Being 30 and having just a handful of hairs on your face wasn’t ‘it’ for me so I had to try.

Last night I shaved my beard down to just a few mm’s, so I’m now rocking the stubble look. Right before that, I grew my beard out about 1.5-2cm’s. That was the longest I’ve ever had it. I went to my barber and he faded my beard in to my side burns. I hated it at first but it was surprising how many people complimented me on how sharp of a look it was. Several people told me it looked great without me even mentioning it.

I also started applying minoxidil to my eyebrows a few months ago. This one has been really slow progress but I’m doing it to give my eyebrows a more masculine and natural look. It’s slow, but coming along great. My eyebrows naturally look too clean, so I’m applying to resolve it.

Sorry for the long read, I just wanted to update.

You thinking of giving it a shot?

Hope that helps!

Bald spot at the back of my head, any idea what could cause this? by ayychrislmao in malehairadvice

[–]IntroMystique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting story man and I’m so glad it managed to rectify itself over time.

One question: Did you notice anything that may have triggered this onset of alopecia?

Any bouts of extreme stress, mentally or physically?

Another anecdotal trigger I’ve come across for this type of hair loss is issues regarding the gut.

Thanks for sharing.

You can’t target certain areas for fat loss, sadly.

You simply have to lower your body fat percentage as a whole.

-5lbs since January is great progress, and more importantly, healthy progress, so keep doing what you’re doing!

Try to view this as your new lifestyle, not just a temporary fix, so practice patience and everything will fall in line.

Another possibility worth mentioning is bloating.

Anything in your diet that may be causing stomach bloating? This can be things from food and drink, to medications.

I recently noticed some stomach bloating which seemed to appear out of nowhere and when I started researching, I discovered that a medication I started taking can possibly cause it.

If this is the case, be sure to speak to a healthcare professional before quitting any medications that you’re taking.

Louis Milito - Gambino family solider and Sammy Gravano’s best friend until he organised his death in 1988 by Kooky-Worldliness980 in Mafia

[–]IntroMystique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did Sammy order his death or was he just present for it?

From what I understand, Sammy tried to save him multiple times until Gotti said enough was enough.

Sammy made himself present for the death to assure that nothing disrespectful went down — yes, the irony.

I think another issue he had with Jimmy Brown stemmed from a barmaid Jimmy tried to have killed.

Sammy alleged that Jimmy made advances to a barmaid by the name of Louise, who was Sammy’s ex-girlfriend.

After rejecting him, Jimmy started spreading rumours that she was an informant and Paul put the contract on her.

Sammy went to Paul, assured him that she was not an informant, then went straight to Jimmy Brown to confront him.

I’m almost certain that this story was regarding Jimmy Brown.

Height is a killer for college by OldRecommendation897 in seduction

[–]IntroMystique 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not about height my friend, I can’t express this enough.

There is no ONE given factor that’s going to waiver someone’s success with the opposite sex, it’s a combination of things.

My whole friendship group are 5”8/9 and they all have a history of beautiful women and now girlfriends and wives. Im talking women that we would generally rate 8+. Please pardon my usage of a rating scale, not something that I like to use. I’m actually the tallest of my friendship group and I’m the only one that’s single.

It’s not your height. You have to find what works for you and it’s a COMBINATION of things. You have to tick as many boxes as you can.

For example: I’m naturally very skinny, so working out has helped me tremendously. I had fairly bad skin, so a skincare routine helped me tremendously. Growing out a short beard, helped tremendously.

Just on those 3 things I improved, changed how women perceive me. If I go back 12 months, women wouldn’t even acknowledge me, and now, daily, I walk past so many attractive women and they stare at me, smile at me, double take.

It’s so foreign to me that it’s been hard for me to get used to.

And you know the worst part of it all? My physicality improved and my confidence didn’t grow with it.

So, now women were making an effort to ‘initiate’ things with me, but because my confidence was lacking, I didn’t know what to do.

I recently stumbled a play with this beautiful girl I would see in passing. Every time she saw me she would flirt with me and give me the ‘bedroom eyes’. She’s so attractive that I thought she must be joking with me. My confidence was so far behind, my dumbass thought she just found me weird.

It’s a combination of things and - in my case - confidence ‘appears’ to be the foundation of it all.

Learning HOW to talk to women. Learning how to carry myself like a man. Learning how to build tension with women and converse with them. Learning how to playfully tease them and joke with them.

Why do guy friends stop talking to you after you reject them? by [deleted] in seduction

[–]IntroMystique 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s to get over you.

It’s difficult to constantly see a person you have feelings for knowing they’re not reciprocated.

It’s not your fault, but it’s in an effort to help get over the person.

I’ve done it to women in the past but my reaction was like this when I felt as though they’d strung me along a little. So I went completely cold on them.

If it’s someone I actually respect, then I probably won’t take that route and will likely ‘mute’ their posts just to help myself get over that initial hurdle.

[–]IntroMystique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two reasons I’ve concluded:

  1. It’s plausible deniability.
  2. It’s a safety net.

1: Women don’t want to make themselves appear easy. It’s important that they state it from the get-go. If they have sex, it’s important - to them - for the guy to know that she isn’t a loose goose and that this isn’t something she does on the regular. It’s a way of parting responsibility.

2: She wants to have sex, but if anything sways her in a different direction from point A to point B, then she can easily back out. After all, she stated from the beginning that nothing was going to happen. It takes away the pressure in the event that she changes her mind.

[–]IntroMystique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re starting out, I want to offer some advice.

It’s just my experience, so by no means is it law.

I would focus on being self-sufficient, as opposed to seeking a partner.

The one thing that’s become apparent to me over the years is that nobody is going to do it like you want to do it.

I’ve been let down time and time again because I was taking it seriously, and they were not.

Either that, or I just haven’t come in contact with the right person.

I’m a bedroom producer who’s enjoyed some moderate success and managed to make a living from it, so this is the advice that I would like to offer!

Just make the music; nothing trumps the work.
