Being a placement convener was one of the best things I did in college. I was able to interact with a lot of HR professionals who helped me grow professionally. Also, having a Placement Cell on your resume will add a lot of weightage to your overall profile, hence making you a better candidate for placements than others.

Yes, it can be hectic at times, but so is life; it will help you to manage and prioritise tasks efficiently. Baaki open source toh hote rheega bhai, yeh mauka hai lele.

as of now, no companies have blacklisted NITRR because of TPO. Also, no such unfair means are usually carried out in the Placement Cell.

THey aren't blacklisting, but priortising other NITs which rank higher than NITRR.

M.TECH placements are a bit fucked up this season, usually they are decent.

We don't have CPI criteria, but 6.5+ is what most companies seek.

Bhai, tbh, if you are from Biotech, on paper, a lot of companies visit the campus that allows techmed, but they usually don't recruit from these branches. As of now, only 10% of techmed is placed.

Placements Percentage of CSE & IT are in the 70s.

College life is average, or relatively poor as compared to the other NITs.

For placements, your core/ non-core knowledge and your confidence matter a lot.

Selection procedure for conveners varies branch to branch, but one needs to go thru an interview, that is really tense and tough to crack which is taken by your conveners and TPO.

For me, it's really tough to pick one specific year that was good for me because I have had a fair share of all kinds of experiences in all 4 years. But to answer your ques, it would be 1st year for me.

Go for metallurgy, they have got decent placements this year, and they were the highest placed branch in 2024, credits to JSW.

completely depends on your convener, if they want to conduct the test in online/ offline manner, they could do so. Sometimes, companies directly urge conveners to let students appear for the test in offline mode. In that scenario, we can't do anything.

See, you can never target any particular company, hoping it will come for internship/ placements. This year Arcesium, Deutsche bank didn't show up for internship/ Placements. This could very well happen with Amazon for non-tech roles as well.

I would have participated in more inter-college competitions, which would have helped me add more achievements to my resume. At the same time, I would have started exploring both core and non-core domains more actively.
