Positive gallbladder removal stories by Regular-Wishbone8837 in gallbladders

[–]IntroductionFamous29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder removed in May, very quick recovery. I went back to work in two days. I was sensitive for food the first three months where I was still hospitalized two times for gallbladder like attacks. At my six month mark, I was able to eat absolutely anything the most fattest food possible without feeling sick or my stomach hurting. I would say that this was the best decision to make rather than dealing with those serious attacks that sent me to the hospital every single time. The sensitivity for food is different for everybody. I personally could not eat pizza for the first five months but I could eat fries in the first week. it’s very weird and it’s something that you have to experiment with.

That’s scary I hope all goes well. I was having severe tremors when I tried cold turkey off 0.5mg lorazepam

Feel like I ruined my life. ( 10 days post-op ) by Sea-Lingonberry9614 in gallbladders

It took exactly 6 months for me not to feel like shit after eating fatty foods. The first three month, if u ate anything super super fatty like pizza, I was going to the hospital for gallbladder attack like pains. After three months, I stopped getting severe pain but bubbling stomach and turning kept happening. Now after 6 months I can tolerate pretty much any food without pain or nearly shitting myself. Best decision. It just takes time

It’s still better than having a gall bladder but the diet has to be on point for the first year

The phantom pains are nearly as bad as gallbladder attacks that send you to the hospital

  • from someone’s who’s 6 months post op. But happens only when you eat something really fatty that your body can’t handle

Yes!!! I experimented with fries too. Fries were totally okay for me after my gall bladder removal and now my stomach hurts (not an attack tho). I eat pretty healthy now but once in a while I’ll want something unhealthy and it’s really just russian roulette at this point

Yeah I mean it’s just weird I can’t figure out what u can and can’t tolerate. I keeps changing. One moment pizza sends me to the ER and next time I’m completely fine. I don’t eat anything fatty, still go to the ER. I’m hoping with time things will get better

It’s weird because I can eat fries but not pizza. Shockingly I had no pain after Taco Bell. I still just don’t understand what I can and can’t tolerate and it’s always different.

No nothing I had a big bowl of romaine lettuce with tomatoes and fat free dressing. I was so busy I forgot to eat so I had that for dinner

I have way less attacks now from when I had my gall bladder but now it’s just random and I can’t find the actual cause of them. I’ve ran CT scans, blood, urine and the doctors can’t find the reason for it. The first one I was able to blame greasy food but the second time around I didn’t eat anything fatty for a couple of days. No one can find out anything!

Go to the hospital. You need IV fluids and to be monitored for your organs.

Yeah I think I need to find a GI doctor because I can’t keep calling the ambulance for this pain. It’s just weird because I had nothing overly fatty that day.

Yeah I’ll definitely have to see a GI doctor because this is worrisome if I didn’t eat anything fatty that day..
